You can also change the keyboard bindings from the d3dx.ini file. =========================================================================== KNOWN ISSUES: =========================================================================== - Obviously Compute Shaders can't be fully fixed currently! I tried on numerous attempts for a lot of games (SW:BF, BF1, etc) and wasn't able to make them STICK in both eyes. They stick in both eyes for 3 seconds after which they disappear in one eye! - Problem with starting 3D Vision in Windows 10 when using SINGLE GPU Workaround provided. See above driver settings Requirements! If that still fails, see video #1 and #2. Hope you enjoy the fix, in it's current form! The game still looks awesome in the locations where you play the game with the fix! If you find any element that is wrong (I might have missed an effect someplace) do let me know! Cheers, Helifax
THIS IS A PARTIAL-FIX !!!

- It comes in 2 flavors: With some Compute Shaders working ; Without Compute Shaders

In order to use this fix, you need to disable Compute Shaders and as a result lose a lot of lighting!!! See video #3 for more details!
Use this fix for exterior locations!
Use CM for interior locations! (or the gamma override this fix has, if is enough for you!)
(See bellow on how to switch from one to another.)

===========================================================================
Fixed:
===========================================================================
- UI (man the UI is very broken, at different depths. Look at the key-shortcuts below)
- Lights and Shadows
- Some lights
- Skyboxes
- Added on "Brightness/Gamma" work-around for dealing with areas where there are NO-LIGHTS
- Removed STUPID Pillar-box in 2D/3D Surround.
- Fixed Different Compute Shaders Lighting (See video #3)
- etc, (as I can't remember)

Authors:
===========================================================================
- Helifax - This fix, Shader fixes, Rendering issues, etc
- Big thanks to Bo3b, DarkStarSword and Flugan for creating 3DMigoto and this awesome wrapper that allows us to fix our favourite DX11 games in 3D Vision!
- NVIDIA for Creating 3D Vision as a tech!

===========================================================================
Recommended in-game SETTINGS:
===========================================================================

- TAA must be disabled!! This is a heavy post-process technique and it is incompatible! Use FXAA instead!
- What was fixed for the Compute Shaders is only of HIGH & ULTRA Settings
(The brightness/gamma override should work now on all Light Levels)
- Post-Process set to Medium to remove some weird MONO DOF.
- Remove MOTION BLUR (killer of 3D movement).
- Rest is up to you, but I recommend sticking with MEDIUM/HIGH/ULTRA settings! Anything lower, wasn't tested.
- Make sure, Shaders quality is set to HIGH!
- Make sure, Ambient Occlusion quality is set to HBAO!

- Rest is up to you!

I. 3D Vision Semi-fix without Compute Shaders:
===========================================================================
I say this a semi-fix because it fixes the game without using "fancy lights" and compute shaders! (as stated in the first paragraph).

- Addresses Single Player Campaign
- Works with Multi Player Component

Right, first thing first:

NVIDIA Profile MANDATORY FOR SLI USERS - to get rid of the FLICKERING. It also adds CM profile that anyone can use:

===========================================================================
Installation:
===========================================================================

- Make sure you have "Maximum pre-rendered frames" set to 1 in the GLOBAL Settings!
Image
(This will make the 3D Vision & game to load properly and auto-stereorize correctly!)

- Download the archive from here:
Mass Effect Andromeda - Fix ver.0.4
Mass Effect Andromeda - Fix ver.0.3
- Copy the content in Mass Effect Andromeda Installation location.
- Make a bat file and add this content to it:
del "C:\Users\YOUR_USER_NAME\AppData\Local\Temp\NVIDIA Corporation\NV_Cache\"* /Q /S /F
"D:\Origin Games\Mass Effect Andromeda\MassEffectAndromeda.exe"

- Where YOUR_USER_NAME is your Windows Username!
- Modify the PATH to be your MA:E installation location!
- Always Start the Game using this shortcut
- For Windows 7/8/10 users RUNNING A SINGLE card, see video #1 from above on how to make the game work with 3D Vision. Windows7/10 SLI users can skip this video, but I still recommend giving it a watch as some things still apply;)

===========================================================================
Running the game with the fix:
===========================================================================

- Assuming you got to the main menu and everything is fine:
- Open the console by pressing ~(or the key next to number 1 on your keyboard. For me is `)
- In the console type (without quotes): "WorldRender.LightTileCsPathEnable 0"
(You can use TAB to auto-complete the word once you started typing it. Seem my #1 video as I show how to do it).
- This disables the Compute Shader Lights.
- Start the game. ( For Win10 users RUNNING A SINGLE card, see video #1 from above on how to make the game work with 3D Vision.)

===========================================================================
Keyboard shortcut Keys:
===========================================================================

- Use F1 to push the crosshair + hud to depth. It has 3 presets: Low depth UI; Crosshair and all elements except "Squad Bar" (lower bottom) at low depth UI; or big depth UI.
Low depth UI is controlled in the .ini file by x = 0.3
High depth UI is controlled in the .ini file by y = 0.9
(You can customise them!)

- Use F2 to disable the SKYBox correction (ON planets where there is no texture attached to the Sky, just a Solid Colour. Shown in Video #2).

- Use F3 in GALAXY MAP ONLY. It has 3 presets:
  • Solar System(Cluster) View - when you see all the planets
  • Whole Galaxy video - where you see all the clusters
  • Planet view - when you have one planet selected
  • (This mode also disables the SHIP cockpit - seen in the upper part- and pushes the convergence to high levels so we get that AWESOME 3D Effect in SPACE!!! YEY!!! ^_^)

    - Use F9 to change the brightness/gamma in locations with low lights. See video #2. There are 4 presets.

    - Use F4 to push the videos in depth! After a video finished. Press F4 again to revert, otherwise the screen will get corrupted (shared shader with the game).

    - Use F12 to disable the 3D Vision fix. Allows you to swap back to CM mode and enable CS lights.

    - Use DELETE to disable Screen Space Reflections. Under SLI they are broken. Single GPU seems to work fine, but can look weird sometimes when used with the GAMMA override functionality.

    - Use Q to change between 3 convergences: 0.3, 0.7, 2.5. Cinematics, Over-the Shoulder Camera, Nomad mode.

    - HOLD TAB (when selecting the weapon from the wheel) to temporarily disable any UI correction you have applied (and warps the UI).

    - I recommend using an XBOX ONE ELITE controller and bind the most used shortcuts to the paddle keys. You can also change the keyboard bindings from the d3dx.ini file.

    - For Windows 7/8/10 users RUNNING A SINGLE card, see video #1 from above on how to make the game work with 3D Vision. Windows7/10 SLI users can skip this video, but I still recommend giving it a watch as some things still apply;)

    - The fix will automatically update the Nvidia 3D Vision Profile.

    ===========================================================================
    Keyboard shortcut Keys:
    ===========================================================================

    - Use F1 to change between 3 convergences: 0.3, 0.9, 2.5. Cinematics, Over-the Shoulder Camera, Nomad mode.

    - Use Y to push the crosshair + hud to depth. It has 2 presets: Low depth UI; or Big depth UI.
    Low depth UI is controlled in the .ini file by x = 0.3
    High depth UI is controlled in the .ini file by y = 0.9
    (You can customise them!)

    - Use Q to push the crosshair + hud to depth. It has 2 presets: Everything will be pushed to High Depth except the Squad Bar (bottom of the screen)

    - Use DELETE to enable/disable Screen Space Reflections. Under SLI they are broken. Single GPU seems to work fine, but can look weird sometimes when used with the GAMMA override functionality.

    - Use F5 to disable/enable the overall shadows. Will make the game very bright without any shadows

    ===========================================================================
    KNOWN ISSUES:
    ===========================================================================

    - Obviously Compute Shaders can't be fully fixed currently!

    Cheers,
    Helifax

    Thanks Helifax! Can't wait to try this game in 3D (hopefully). Is it the same engine as BF1? Hopefuilly they haven't messed with the Frostbyte engine to make things overly complicated for you. I really hope this game is as epic as it looks.

Hopefully is more like Battlefield One than SW: Battlefront or Mirror's Edge(2016) ;) This means those nasty Compute Shader Lights would not be a HUGE problem. If we are LUCKY it will be like Dragon Age: Inquisition, where it didn't matter is Compute Shaders where ON or OFF as all the lights were rendered in both cases ^_^. This will not be a fix on "day one" as you imagine;) I am still playing Horizon: Zero Dawn on the PS4 (not a big fan of consoles, but too many awesome games are only on the PS4 -_-) in 2D... blah (Man this game would be PURE AWESOME in 3D on the PC). Just wanted to let people know, that I intend to look at this game ASAP after release:)

I was also just thinking that Horizon Zero Dawn could have been one of the best looking 3D games ever. Such a great game, and combat is so much more entertaining than the Witcher 3, but it's not as epic and story isn't as deep but man I love taking down some of those machines. Saw my first ThunderJaw and I just ran away in fear, after I saw it kill an entire group of soldiers. Hope to finish Horizon before I start another epic game like Andromeda. I'm sure everyone on this forum has learned patience by now when it comes to 3D vision and nobody is expecting a WIP fix within the first month anyway. Heck, I'm still waiting for a Batman fix, maybe one day it will be fixable, as with many other games. IT's funny playing 2D games right after mostly playing 3D games. My eyes get strained -almost like they are trying to create a 3D image from boring old 2D...

    The single player mode will be “gated” and early-access players won’t be able to progress after a certain point. According to the producer, players will be able to keep exploring after they have reached the “gated” part on the planet, which took Melo around 6 hours to reach. This restriction doesn’t apply to the game’s multiplayer mode, which will be fully playable, just like the recent Early Access for Battlefield. As with all EA early access titles, the trial has a 10 hour time limited. http://wccftech.com/mass-effect-andromeda-ea-access-gated-sp/ thanks for looking at this game helifax :)

    Aside from 3DVision which will be awesome, I will be just as happy if we get native Nvidia Surround support. Does anyone know if ME3 will include support for surround?

    I am downloading right now the free trial. It is playable for me in around 1,5 hours. But I guess I will go before that to bed. ;). But I can report with some pictures back tomorrow after work.

    I did. It improves some of the rendering, but I couldnt actually get into game with it without it crashing.' Game looks promising when you start it up, hud renders at depth, and most of the rendering looks correct with some screen depth effects. but once you actually get into the game it's a mess. Tried most of the frostbyte profiles and no luck either. I got the game to load using the star wars profile, but the 3d is borked with the usual culprits. Anyone one of a CM mode profile thats known to work with the frostbyte engine? the DA:I one doesnt work.

    The game isn't released for another week or so... How did you manage to get hold of it? I don't see a Demo available.... Probably it requires the normal Frostbyte 3 tweaks and love to make it working:)
