dark souls 3 performance definitely sucks. There's no reason why an overclocked gtx 980 can't handle this game in 4k. I even turned off AA and still couldn't hit 60fps in dark souls 3 lol. The performance in this game is questionable at best.

I'm done with nvidia thats 100% sure, im using nvidia since 7900GT but since my GTX 970 is 3.5gb because they didn't give us all the right info, im pissed. I'm buying AMD next gen. by this Thread reason and my own reasons. And guys, thats not only in Dark Souls 3, i have a GTX 760 and something similar happened with The Witcher 3 and Kepler. PS: I'm getting constant crashes in Quantum Break, when is this going to get fixed?. AMD doesn't have those problems.
Nvidia should give offucial answer about strange huge boost in Dark souls 3 on GTX 400 and 500 series what are you hiding nvidia? with latest drivers i was have 10-11 fps even on lowest game settings and 800x600 with 314.22 i am playing game on custom 1366x768p which is shocking https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=hImoox6qyzo One more reminder in 2003 year nvidia has cheated in benchmark and it is confirmed www.geek.com/games/futuremark-confirms-nvidia-is-cheating-in-benchmark-553361/ So this corporation will not hesitate to manipulate for profit... i would not be surprised if they had gimped fermi cards in dark souls 3,especially because that game have average graphics,no gameworks,or advanced AA to be much more taxing compared to DS2
if there is nothing smart to say you better don't say anything at all. Nvidia Policy. I remember exactly same thing happening to me on my old 250 GTS card, when battlefield 3 came out. They said at 1st how this card does not meet minimum requirements, after few months with few driver releases, boom... u can play it on same card with high settings without any problem, and in that time many ppl already upgraded their video cards, counting in my self as well. I know that investment into research and innovation is not cheep, and most of the money goes into it. But it is a very rude way to do it, by hurting consumer trust. And without consumer trust, there is no good business.

Lol even single 980Ti/TX cant. All new games required SLI for this. If you have any stutter, this is cause vram. I play on 4k constant 60 fps (1440p + DSR to 3840x2160), both GPUs have utilization 65/80% cause game 60fps cap. Funny thing is , this game vram usage on 4k is huge. I see 6700 mb and even 8300 mb , lol :D And about "Nvidia destroy old GPUs with drivers" its not true. I'm tested this not long ago. GTX 780Ti@1300/7600 vs GTX 980@1450/7800 = Same performance. SLI 780Ti vs SLI 980 too GTX 780Ti@1200/7600 vs GTX 970@1550/8000 = Same performance. Reason why GTX 970 show more fps on reviews is : 1.Maxwell CUDA cores have better performance vs Kepler CUDA cores. Maxwell CUDAs near 40% faster than Kepler -1v1. 2.Maxwell GTX 970 have 56 ROPs vs 48 ROPs on 780/780Ti and 64 ROPs on 980. 3.And most important reason - Maxwell GTX970/980 have much more default clock and boost, than GTX 780/780Ti. In reviews tested GPUs are nonreference OVERCLOCKED GTX 970/980 vs reference stock GTX 780/780Ti. Sites dont test nonreference GTX 780/780Ti , interesting why ? :) GK110 need much lower clocks to performance similliar or better than GM204.
