Assassin's creed 3 (and other games) random crashes. Please help.
I get these random crashes in Assassin's creed 3 and other various games (maybe dx11 or dx10 is related? idk) and they are all related to the nvwgf2um.dll or nvd3dum.dll (though I haven't had any of the latter in a long time, I may have fixed those somehow). The same thing happens every time, I'm playing fine then all of the sudden out of nowhere the game freezes and either CTD's or show my cursor in which I have to the ctrl+alt+delete my way out of the game. Here's my most recent crash log: Faulting application name: AC3SP.exe, version: 0.0.0.0, time stamp: 0x5155b537 Faulting module name: nvwgf2um.dll, version: 9.18.13.4052, time stamp: 0x53b44419 Exception code: 0xc0000005 Fault offset: 0x0034beed Faulting process id: 0x116c Faulting application start time: 0x01cfd38a09d95267 Faulting application path: C:\Program Files (x86)\Ubisoft\Assassin's Creed III\AC3SP.exe Faulting module path: C:\Windows\system32\nvwgf2um.dll Report Id: 0c8cfa3e-3f80-11e4-8fa4-d43d7ef2df1d And here's my specs: AMD FX-8150 3.6GHz 8-Core MSI 970A-G46 ATX AM3+ Patriot Viper 3 8GB (2 x 4GB) DDR3-2133 Western Digital Caviar Blue 1TB 3.5" 7200RPM (2 of them) Galaxy GeForce GTX 670 2GB Rosewill 550W ATX12V / EPS12V So far I've tried installing old, new, and beta drivers of many versions through many thorough methods, RMA-ing my GPU for a new one (used to have a 760), reseating the GPU multiple times making sure I have a good connection, and monitoring temps (they're fine). This is a really frustrating issue and I can't really enjoy my games because I'm too afraid they're going to crash again. It's feels like I'm trying to go off-roading in a truck make of glass; it's just not enjoyable. Any help would be appreciated, thanks.

SonofRobin, you should check out this thread. It is the same crash problem you are experiencing but it is happening in many other games. This thread also has(or at least had) the attention of a Moderator. https://forums.geforce.com/default/topic/773318/pc-games/dead-rising-3-random-crashes-/
