Windows 8.1 upgrade, no SLI avalable
I installed Windows 8.1 Pro (Media Center) 64 bit upgrade and the SLI option is now gone. The driver does see both cards but the SLI option doesn't show up. It only allows me to change PhysX option. The Span Display option is there, too but I don't use multiple displays. SLI worked fine under Windows 8.0 Current driver: 331.58 Windows 8.1 (UEFI) with Media Center 64 bit Video cards..: GeForce GTX 670 FTW SLI Motherboard..: Z87-Deluxe with 16GB ram. I have tried the previous drivers, no luck. I see threads that Levono PC users had issues with SLI and that Levono came out with a driver version that detects SLI after the Windows 8.1 upgrade. I hope that I'm not the only one having trouble with SLI on a non Levono PC. :( Any help would be greatly appreciated! Thanks in advance!

I updated to windows 8.1 64bit on release day. On the newest Nvidia drivers, the Nvidia Control Panel, my SLI option is missing completely. I had to use older 314.22 windows 7 64bit drivers to regain the option to turn SLI on again in the Nvidia Control Panel.

The Win 8.1 update screws over all the video card drivers. Hence you lost your control panel and options to change the video card settings. I myself was also stuck and needed to fully reinstall the Nvidia software. Right now on latest drivers with no issues to report. Cards using SLI GTX770 so don't know about older models. The video card issues have been reported on allot of different cards and re install tends to work best. I believe the update didn't do a fine job at keeping all the files. Also needed to reinstall other software as well

Same story here. I updated Windows to 8.1 and NVIDIA drivers to 331.58. After that I've noticed that SLI settings are not avaiable in NVIDIA Control Panel. NVIDIA GeForce Expirence shows also only one Graphic Processor! Although Windows Devices Manager shows two graphic cards installed (2 x GeForce GT 650M). So - does SLI is off or not in this situation?

I found out VBIOS update is needed in Lenovo computers. So we (Lenovo users) have to wait or downgrade video drivers (what I think is not a good idea) - https://forums.geforce.com/default/topic/615247/notebook-sli-broken-windows-8-1/ - http://forums.lenovo.com/t5/IdeaPad-Y-U-V-Z-and-P-series/Re-Lenovo-Ideapad-Y500-Windows-8-1-and-SLI/td-p/1272317/page/16

Any updates on this? In 8.1 I am having the same issue. Driver 335.23 , 2 x 680GTX. Works on windows 8 and Works on Windows 7. No SLI options, just surround and physX, doesnt matter how my monitors are connected but all 3 monitors have to be connected to one card in win8 and win7 for the options to be visable. I want win8.1, I want my NFC to work properly and all the fixes in 8.1 vs going with win8. NFC does not work in Win7. Hi, I have the same issue. I brought the second GTX770 the day before Yesterday and tried to SLI these two identical cards. had the code of 43 for device manager for the second card. No luck of reinstalling drives. I also updated the Operation system from 7 to 8.1 before I decide my SLI setting up, So I think 8.1 Pro may be an issue as identified here. Heyyo,

Have you guys tried Display driver Uninstaller? It's more thorough of an uninstaller than the stock NVIDIA one.

Display Driver Uninstaller (DDU)

http://www.wagnardmobile.com/DDU/
 1. Download the program, extract it and restart in Safe Mode (F8 tap it during reboot after BIOS screen)
 2. Run DDU, Select "Clean & Restart"
 3. Once back in regular boot? it'll detect and install basic display drivers. Once that's done? Install the latest NVIDIA drivers for your GPU and then reboot
 4. Once rebooted? Enable SLI! See what happens.
 5. (Optional) Open up DDU (if it asks to reboot into safe mode? you don't need to, so say no) and then click on "Set Automatic Driver Installation to Default"

Hi , I tried DDU, no lack. After completely removing all drives I put two Cards in SLI and boot to Window. I got a message of Code 31 for my second card for Micorsoft basic drive. (This device is not working properly because Windows cannot load the drivers required for this device. (Code 31) ) for Micro basic drive in device manager. There were some posting on this error after upgrading to Window 8.1. After I reinstall the new NVIDAI drive I still get the same error code 43. Thanks for your instruction. wish you to provide further help and look forward to hearing from you.

Heyyo, Hmm, I wonder if it's your Mobo drivers and such... go to Asus's site, install the recommended motherboard chipset drivers.

Hi, Thanks for reply I have latest Bios from ASUS installed. Is Motherboard chipset drive Bios? I was unable to find the any information that recommend the chipset drive for SLI. Could you provide further instruction? The site I went was: http://www.asus.com/ca-en/Motherboards/SABERTOOTH_990FX_R20/HelpDesk_Download/ I also did some tests of following: Run both cards individually on different slots. All scenarios were running smoothly. This means that mother board is ok. Both cards are also ok. But when linked in SLI it was simply not working. I believe it is drive issues. Thanks and look forward to hearing from you

Win 8.1 2 gtx 570. Had the same problem as most, error code 43,no sli option in nvidia control panel etc etc, had win 7 loaded up on the usb ready to go and tried 1 more thing. Reinstalled 335.23 driver, chose custom clean install, rebooted and everything is perfect now.
