Anyway, I'm really liking the 327.24 drivers in CoD Black Ops 2. It even makes the game look better than it did before somehow. I have to admit I had trouble installing the WHQL 327.02 drivers, but that's just the way Windows Updates cabinet files are. The 327.24 is nice.

I'm on Windows 8.1 build 9431. The WHQL 327.02 64-bit driver I got from here: http://download.windowsupdate.com/msdownload/update/driver/drvs/2013/09/20590251_d3310eadb26d094ce9a9ceaff74415e3c0aceab5.cab It only lets you click that link once for some reason. This link may be for mobile only. Not sure. EDIT: I just fixed the link. I had made a typo.

Well I don't know this is the case, but one reason drivers often hit microsoft update first is because when you submit a driver to Microsoft for WHQL testing, you then wait weeks for it to be tested and approved. So at best Nvidia has to play a waiting game and after Microsoft releases the driver and the manufacturer gets the heads up on WHQL approval they can upload it and host it. 327.02 shows a date of late August so I'd guess that's when it was submitted to Microsoft. I don't recall NVidias timeframe, but official WHQL certified drivers get released from Microsoft before Nvidia hosts them on their site in the cases where I can remember paying attention. Sometimes they release the beta and post it and the WHQL is the same driver except for the certification, but in that case it's still a different driver version usually even if the end user has no negligible difference. There isn't a lot of information out yet about the newest update, and if it's a big driver release or strictly a Windows 8 patch release or strictly mobile, or inf is for desktop class etc. It's mostly subjective stuff like "Well so and so game just looks better I can't explain it but it looks better when I play." As a part time developer and open source hobbyist I can tell you that early reports like that have a decent chance of being placebo effect inspired.

An Nvidia moderator said that the developer drivers 327.24 are older than the 326.80 version and don't include many of the fixes, and more when compared to the WHQL 327.02. Just be patient folks, maybe a day or two and they'll be here.
