GT630M
Hello, I have an issue with a GT630M nVidia notebook graphics card. I`ve bought a new laptop, an Asus K53S with this video card, and surprise surprise, after i`ve instaled windows 7 (x64), I went on nvidia.com to get the latest driver for my card, and there is no support there for GT630M, not for windows 7 x64, that I`m interested, that is. Now the problem is this : I have no Cuda, no Physx, nothing.
What`s the solution to this problem and when is an official driver gonna be released for this type of video card ?

Thank you!

ASUS support will have the driver.
Actually they have 7 different drivers.

ASUS got them from NVidia and Microsoft made them WHQL.

So you americans don`t actualy know when there`s gonna be a official release from nvidia, do you ?

And how can Asus have them, but the rest of the world, doesn`t ?!
Like I`ve said in the initial post, with the drivers from Asus, I don`t have Cuda or any nvidia tech working, even the games run on the HD3000 that comes in the i5 2450M

Inform yourself and friends, Americans are not gods who know everything. The only people who know official driver release dates work for Nvidia.

Given the address - forums.nvidia.com - I was expecting an aswer from them !

I figoured it out anyway, they renamed the GT540M into GT630M, so the driver for GT540M works like a charm.

No thanks to nVidia there.

This is extremely irritating, I have the exact same problem as you! Same laptop. And as I can see there are huge discussions on the web about compatibility issues between the Intel HD graphics and the nVidia. Based on your above note on GT540M I have attempted to install it. The official nVidia download for the GT540M resulted in a driver called Verde which did not install because of a compatibility error. Then I tried like three more drivers for the GT540M directly but all of them keep failing with compatibility errors. Then it turned out that the whole community is struggling with compatibility issues between nVidia products and the Intel HD graphics. Outrageous! So my question is really: how did you manage to get the driver installed for the GT540M/GT630M?

I have the same problem with you, and how can you install the GT540M driver? Does it support CUDA development?

Funny enough, I was expecting a compatibility error, but everything went super-smooth. I got Cuda, Physx, DirectCompute, witch I didn`t had whit the Asus driver.
To install the driver I`ve actualy reinstaled the windows (win7 x64 ultimate in my case). It isn`t problem free tho, while I can run Call of Duty Black Ops @ 1366 x 768 with decent details, in League of Legends, with medium settings @ 1366 x 768, after 15 minutes of playing I got a BSOD, VGA driver error.

But by far, my biggest problem is the whole system all together. Previously of this, I had a Dell laptop, Core2 Duo and an ATi 4570 video card, wich still doesn`t cause me all the problems that this Asus does. Both COD: Black Ops and League of Legends get higher frame rate. This Optimus technology might work fine for the GT5xx series, but with the current drivers that Asus (and only Asus) provides it seems that Optimus doesn`t work.

If you look on youtube, there are some videos posted by users playing new games on this GT630M card, with more then decent details and more then 40 FPS, thing is that none of them are doing it on an Asus laptop, it`s eighter MSI or something else. After I`ve checked and double-checked, I came to the conclusion that all this laptop manufacturers developed their own drivers, and while you are allowed to install the drivers that MSI or Acer developed for GT630M, they still don`t work on the Asus, and that I don`t know how it`s happening.

I had the same problem. Update your BIOS! It totally worked for me. I wasn't able to play any games or use any grapghi application. I updated the driver for the graphic card and updated the BIOS. All aplications work perfect now and I can enjoy my laptop. Hope it helped

Hi everyone,
I had the same problem with GT630M on Dell Inspiron 5420. The newest driver from Nvidia can't detect my card automatically. I found several ways to make it work, but i found and used of my own way, without update BIOS or something like that. My way is to update the .INF file as below:
- Check the Nvidia card's ID in Device manager, with my GT630M is DEV_0DE9&SUBSYS_055E1028
- Download and unzip the official driver file from Nvidia, then open file ...\Display.Driver\ListDevices.txt, add a row in section nvdm.inf: as below:
nvdm.inf:
...
DEV_0DE9&SUBSYS_055E1028 "NVIDIA GeForce GT 630M"
...
- Open file nvdm.inf and add 3 lines to the coresponding sections as below:
[NVIDIA_SetA_Devices.NTamd64.6.0]
...
%NVIDIA_DEV.0DE9.055E.1028% = Section066, PCI\VEN_10DE&DEV_0DE9&SUBSYS_055E1028
...

[NVIDIA_SetA_Devices.NTamd64.6.1]
...
%NVIDIA_DEV.0DE9.055E.1028% = Section056, PCI\VEN_10DE&DEV_0DE9&SUBSYS_055E1028
...

[Strings]
DiskID1 = "NVIDIA Windows Vista / Windows 7 (64 bit) Driver Library Installation Disk 1"
NVIDIA = "NVIDIA"
NVIDIA_A = "NVIDIA"
...
NVIDIA_DEV.0DE9.055E.1028 = "NVIDIA GeForce GT 630M"
...
- That's it, now we can run the setup.exe file to install the driver for Nvidia GeForce GT 630M on our laptop. My card is shown as in the attachments
