GW2 - need new graphics card!
I Bought Guild Wars 2, but I discovered that my computer will not run it. Based upon my computer specs it looks like my Graphics card is the biggest problem.

My computer: Dell Inspiron 570 64-bit(Desktop)
My Specs: Processor - AMD Athlon(tm)II X2 240 Processer 2.80 GHz
RAM - 3GB
Graphics Card - ATI Radeon HD 4200

Based on this chart my graphics card wont run this game at all.

I need a new graphics card that is compatible with my computer that will run it at atleast 720p settings (Very High or Ultra) and is a reasonable price. ( I'm hoping under $100.)

Can somebody please post a reply and help me! I'm not very good with computer Tech and really want to play the game before beta! (beta start Friday 4/27/12)

Hi there and welcome to the forums! /w00twave.gif' class='bbc_emoticon' alt=':w00twave:' />

It actually looks like your CPU is below the min spec for Guild Wars, and your graphics card is actually well above the min spec for this game specifically:
What are the minimum system requirements for Guild Wars 2?
Our goal with Guild Wars 2 is to have it run on a wide range of Windows gaming PCs.

Windows® XP Service Pack 2 or better • Intel® Core 2 Duo 2.0 GHz, Core i3, AMD Athlon 64 X2, or better • 2 GB RAM • NVIDIA® GeForce® 7800, ATI X1800, Intel HD 3000, or better (256MB of video RAM and shader model 3.0 or better) • 25 GB available HDD space • Broadband Internet connection • Keyboard and mouse
So really a better upgrade if your motherboard allowed it would be a faster CPU, as upgrading your graphics card would not give you a huge performance boost, though if you still wanted to go that route we only have a few cards in the under $100 range, GT 440 or a GT 520, as all the other budget 500 series cards are mainly OEM cards.

So what CPU upgrade would you recommend so I don't lag when playing GW2?

According to Dell this should fit on your motherboard, it's quad core, should do the trick:

AMD Phenom TM II Processor X4 850 (3.3GHz, 2M, 4C)
