List of incompatible games for nvidia optimus
  1 / 3
Hi optimus users. /w00twave.gif' class='bbc_emoticon' alt=':w00twave:' />
I think that this forum needs a list of all the games that optimus has failed to support. Im posting the games that i failed to play with optimal conditions or being able to play at all.
My gpu and drivers: geforce gt 555m with 301.24 drivers

Binary Domain Demo 296.10 whql(Doesn't launch at all the game only recognizes the intel graphics wich causes a critical error also the nvidia control panel doesn't have a profile for the game)

F.e.a.r. 301.24(The game crashes to desktop after doing a system checkup for optimal conditions and crashes everytime afterwards, however fearmp.exe seem's to work)

F.e.a.r. 2 Project Origin 296.10 whql(Worked fine with 269.37 but after the update the games suffers from stuttering from time to time and the problem gets worst with v-sync on)

Helbreath 296.10 whql(Runs with intel graphics chipset with 302.24 beta drivers)

Hitman: Codename 47 301.24(The games runs decent with the integrated graphics but when running the game with the geforce the mouse gets a terrible delay)

MSI kombustor (Crashes to desktop with 301.24 beta drivers)

Portal 2 296.10 whql(The game seem's to run ok with the gpu but it get's a lot of sttutering with v-sync on also the shadows look very pixelated i used to have an alienware m11x r1 with hybrid graphic's and if i recall the shadows looked waaaaay better)

Sonic Generations 296.10 whql(Geforce GT540M and a 301.24 driver on Alieware m11x R3 doesn't work same problem as Binary domain)

And that's it for the moment, if you want to post your issue specify your gpu and driver version also the whole name of the game and the problem. If possible i'll edit this first post and add your issue on the list.

PD
Also if you know a driver or fix be sure to post it.

Update to the new 301.24 driver and it will solve the issue, at least for Half-Life 2 and the others Source-based games.

Problem?? Changing graphic cards, so Optimus technology. I Can't switch game to GeForce. It works all the time on Integrated Intel. Em.. i try all of the possibilities, now I'm waiting for fix from Nvidia side.

That's odd. 301.24 works on my GT 555M, but it brought a lot of issues and glitches, not to mention FXAA actually being slower than even MSAA x2, so I'm back at 296.10.

If the 301.24 driver from Nvidia doesn't work, apply a modded .inf to allow installation.

Out of the top of my head, I can only remember World of Warcraft having lower performance, but that's not much of an issue. MSI Kombustor, however, did crash instantly with 301.24, which is something that didn't happen on 296.10 and 295.73.

Also, Half Life 2 Episode 1 does run on the Nvidia GPU, but due to some issues the wrapper dll that binds the IGP and the GPU, shadow detail cannot be selected any higher than medium, but the GPU is used indeed for the whole rendering. A simple way of looking at it and seeing the GPU works is through setting AA to 8x, a setting that's unavailable on the Intel IGP. And no, there aren't 3D scenarios rendered by both the IGP and the GPU.

did anyone had an issue with Batman Arkham? i have a GT555m with 296.10 driver. even if i select the high performance option thru nVidia's 3D settings, graphics are still poor at an average of 11 fps (based on benchmarking). so i guess the game still runs on IGP. any idea how to fix this?

also, shadows on Skyrim are visibly jagged. i know the game runs on GPU but what about that shadow issue?

Hmm that's interesting so the only problem is the game running in directx9 and not in directx9c.
