Skyrim hitches precisely every 60 seconds 301.24 drivers I timed it with a stopwatch
Exactly every 60 seconds, regardless of what is going on in the game, Skyrim will freeze for 1.5 seconds (I've timed this with a stopwatch.) This didn't happen a few months ago. It doesn't happen with other games. I'm not sure exactly when it began.

I have an SLI GTX 460 system with an i5 2500K CPU at 4.3 GHz.

It occurs precisely every 60 seconds and it only happens in Skyrim. I'm using the latest 301.24 drivers from nVidia. I think I played through the game without this happening using the 290.53 drivers. I kinda like FXAA etc. in the 301.24s so I don't want to go back.

Could this be the fault of the drivers? (before I start testing things).

Bizarre. Does the very first hitch start at exactly 60 seconds from loading the game? That would drive me insane. Chinese Skyrim torture. :p

I think this ended up being more about corrupted save games than nVidia stuff. I have a high level character that I've used lots of mods on and over tweaked settings, e.g. changing timescale. I started a new character and this doesn't happen.
