7600GT - Not showing up
Good Evening everyone,

After being given a 7600GT from my friend, I installed it into my computer but for some strange reason after powering up windows 7 I do not get anything saying "new hardware found". The graphics card is spinning just not showing up in windows or my bios.

I can supply any other information if needed.

thanks

Since that motherboard only has a single PCI Express slot, how are you able to see anything on the screen if your computer is not detecting the card? Are you using integrated video from the motherboard? If so, have you directly hooked up the 7600GT to the monitor instead?

FYI, your BIOS will not "show" that a dedicated card is installed. You may have an option in the BIOS however to change the order of video card priority. See if it offers any options for IGP, PCI E, etc. If the priority is set to having the integrated card as the primary, change it to the PCI Express card. Shut down, then connect your monitor directly to the 7600GT and see if it gets into Windows and displays anything. If it does, the card is working. If not, maybe it's dead.
