Battlefield 3 confused
Doods, need your help. I am desperate. Have a athlon 64 x2 dual core 4400+ geforce 550 ti 2784mb and 4gigs RAM. Singleplayer is EPIC! High with no lags. But when it comes to multiplayer, i have my FPS down to 20-25. I play on 1680x1050, and even if i low my resolution, FPS stays the f*ckn SAME. Tried to low my settings but no result. FPS are just 20-25. Very mad. Very

+1 I just upgraded my cpu recently and it was night and day between the dual core and quad core. For BF3 to run MP smoothly, you need a strong cpu for good FPS.

I agree, even going from an AMD 1100T to an i5 2500K gave me a significant fps boost. Your gpu is most likely being bottlnecked by the cpu.

thanx guys. maybe the problem is with my cpu. But WTF? http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=evcZR5H1eGc Maybe i should OC my cpu? Cause 2.2 and 2.8 is not a big deal. NOT 30 FPS! the most disturbing thing is that if i change my resolution, the fps stays. 1680x1050 - 18-20fps. 800x600 19-23fps. Is it possible? Maybe i am stupid but thanx for answers anyway guys.

It's a combination of your GPU being too weak for 1680x1050, because of it's weak bit interface on the vRAM and lack of core count, combined with the fact that your CPU isn't fast enough and doesn't have enough cores to handle multiplayer playing.

The best thing to do would be to scoop a quad core AMD & OC the crap out of it, cheapest solution, and just play at 1280x720 cuz that card should be able to run that on good settings just fine once it has a CPU to support it.

The GTX 550 Ti isn't weak for 1680x1050. Medium settings can easily be had at that resolution.
