GTX 680 Surround Issues
  1 / 3
I have three Samsung 27A50D monitors.

They are connected in the following way

Monitor 1: DVI -> DVI
Monitor 2: DVI -> DVI
Monitor 3: DisplayPort -> DisplayPort

The resolution on all 3 monitors is 2650x1440 all at 60Hz.

When i go to Nvidia control panel on the configure Surround panel - all three monitors are green.
When i click apply to activate surround - the monitors all flicker - but it returns to the same screen and unchecks the Surround configuration button.

Everything I've read says that for 2D surround all you need is 3 monitors connected digitaly - with the same resolution... I've got that.... what am I missing?

It could be a bug in the drivers. Happens all the time.

EDIT: just read that GTX 680 is having serious issues with it's Display port. Threads here on the forum.

When I try to setup surround it ask me to unplug the DP powered monitor and plug it into the 2nd card. Hopefully a driver issue and all this DP stuff can be fixed up asap!

For me the HDMI color palate was horrible, never even close to the DVI colors.

At this stage all three monitors in Surround need to use the DVI plugs. So the one with the Displayport, you either need a Displayport to DVI adapter or use another DVI cable. I'm hoping Nvidia does end up allowing us to use 2 Displayport connections and one DVI for Surround in the future.

It is not technically a bug as the problematic monitors are reporting themselves as DisplayPort 1.2 monitors even though they are only 1.1. But we will have a workaround in an upcoming driver.

The Nvidia website states that for 2D surround all you need is three digital connections at the same resolution....which I have. Now because all three need to be DVI - i have to go buy a $100 HDMI>Dual Link DVI or DP to Duallink DVI adapter just to make Surround work?

They should have included a 3rd DVI port if this was indeed a requirement ...

I have exactly the same issue with my 3 X BENQ 24XL2420T; the resolution 5760X1080 is not possible... It is disapointing!

Especially Nvidia as it was announce as a new feature for the 680 GTX to be able to it, through 2xDVI + 1 DP port even possible to do 3D with this monitor.

I don't see why we should support the cost of adding an adapter to our card to be able to reach this resolution, I expect Nvidia should do something here... Like provide this adapter free of charge! or give us a driver which is working.

Thanks to support us quickly...

The driver is coming, we just need to be patient.

Doesn't 2 DVI plus 1 HDMI work? DVI to HDMI adapter or cable should be quite cheap.

2 DVI and 1 HDMI doesn't work for me with the GTX 680 and 3 Benq XL2420TX's for 2D surround either.

Any word on when we might get working drivers?

my monitors don't have HDMI - they each have 2 DVI ports and 1 DisplayPort....

Display Port to DualLink DVI adapters cost $100....

I have also bought 3 BenQ XL2420T monitors and i can get only 4320 x 900 resolution. I can´t get higher resolution even 60 hz.
I have connected them with 2 x DVI and 1x display port - display port.
Driver 301.24 would´t fix the problem.

Any idea when we get working driver?
Weeks or months?

Does anyone at Nvidia read these posts...and reply-- or are these purely end-user forums.

Regarding the Surround 2D I still have an issue even with the 301.24 version of the drivers.

I was expecting the problem solve quicker than it is actually.

On top you right it looks like nobody from Nvidia is replying here!!
