No they're not. The article is very poorly researched. They showed the current version of the Samaritan demo on GK104 while the older version ran on 3x580s. That's it. It's a stretch at best to draw the conclusion that hothardware did.

If you won't say it Hooks I will.

It's pretty doubtful one 680 is as powerful as three 580s across the board.

First, most generations end up around as powerful as two of the last generation. Although scaling for a third GPU is much less than a second, it would be a revolution of unheard proportions for one 680 to be as powerful across the board as three 580s.

That said, I saw that demo and it was VERY impressive on a multitude of levels.
