8800GT Optimum Settings NVIDIA Website is Questionable
Hello all.

Help me understand the suggested optimum settings for my cards in order to play Crysis 2.

I have a pair of 8800GT in an SLI configuration (*old, I know) and when I try to play Crysis 2 on the lowest video settings the in-game options allow, it still crashes after 15 minutes.

On the NVIDIA website for optimum settings, it says I can run in DX11 mode. What!? After I downloaded all the content and special DX11 stuff, the DX11 option is grayed out—so I looked it up online and it says that my cards are not compatible with DX11. See link. Why would NVIDIA tell me these optimum settings when I can’t run them? I’m looking for any settings where I can play the game.

Any help is appreciated. *Please don't dis my GPUs. I know they're old--I got it. /thumbsdown.gif' class='bbc_emoticon' alt='' />

the nearest optimised settings are for a 9800gt and not 8800gt,since the card you have isn't a dx11 card at all you won't be able to use dx11 settings.old card old technology so you can only make use of dx9 settings.

It looks like NVIDIA removed the erroneous page (my link) since I posted this thread this morning. I had taken a screenshot—so you can see it was not my error--see attached.

Oh, well. I’ll just have to wait to play the game after I get a new computer.
