SLI bridge amount ?

Hello,
I got two gtx 470 in SLI mode and was surprise to see that the link width was only x8 instead of x16.
I have a fatal1ty asrock p67 board.

I saw on the mobo manual that two bridges are necessary between the video cards,
Is that the reason why I only get x8 ?

I only received 1 bridge with the mother board.

Kind Regards,
xixou.

8x link speed is normal for P67 boards running SLI. They do not have enough lanes to run 2x cards at 16x.

Adding a secondary bridge will not do anything to change this or increase performance. It does look nicer though.

Thanks for the reply,
I indeed found this on the web:

3 x PCI Express 2.0 x16 (PCIE2/PCIE4: Single en mode x16 ou Dual en mode x8/x8; PCIE5: mode

Do you think I loose quite a lot of throughput because of this 8X link ?

8X vs 16x depends on what slots you are using on the motherboard. You will not see a difference in frame rate by using 8x or 16x. Don't worry about it.
