295.x with 8800GT: Insanely loud fan
Hi everyone,

I tried updating to the latest driver today, because I've been having flickering issues in CS:Source (the Flashbang fade-out). Unfortunately, as soon as the 295.x driver is installed, the fan revs up to what sounds like 100%. Uninstalling the newer driver and reinstalling the older one (285.62) returns fan operation to normal.

Is there a workaround for newer drivers on the 8800GT?

I think it was a PNY... not quite sure though, I've long trashed it because it was a POS.
