Problem with 290/295 drivers and SLI
  1 / 2
Ever since the 290 series, SLI has been messed up for me. Upon installing, the option to enable to SLI does not show.
If I reinstall the drivers, the option will show up, but if I enable SLI and reboot, then it's like the drivers are not detected at all or something.
The files are definitely there, but my PC thinks the drivers aren't installed. I've seen other people report similar issues.
If I don't enable SLI and reboot, the drivers are fine but the option to turn on SLI is gone again.
It's just weird. Does anyone know what the problem is?

Having the exact same problem (2 GTX 580s and a GT 520). Every time I reboot, either there's no SLI options in the control panel, or all my cards get disabled and I revert to running off the CPU. Only way I've been able to fix it is by doing a clean install of 295.73 every time I turn the computer on. Going to go back to older drivers until this gets fixed.

Hi guys,

Exactly the same problem for me with 2x GTX 580 SLI and 295.73 (the problem was also present for all the 290.x beta driver releases).

To "fix" this problem you have to deactivete the Ethernet Adapter from Windows Device Manager. You can google for this issue/fix, you will find more informations, by the way seems to be a problem/conflict with the Realtek Ethernet Adapter, simply..

Regards.

mobo specs would help.
might want to read this if you use realtek lan drivers.

Im having the same problem, but on Intel lan drivers.
2600k
Sabertooth p67 (intel lan drivers)
evga gtx470 sli
CM Silent Pro 1k
G.SKILL Ripjaws X 2 x 4GB 1600
All parts test no hardware issues including sli bridge.
Reformatted several times.

If i install the latest drivers and not enable sli, when i reboot the option for sli is gone but the drivers remain.
If i disable my network drivers in device manager and restart my pc the option for sli comes back.
If i keep sli enabled re enable my network drivers then reboot pc, the drivers will seem like they were uninstalled.
Been having this problem since 290.
Basically have to go back to 285 if i want sli.

I posted this in the SLi Troubleshooting but what fixed it for me was downgrading Lan Network Drivers find a previous version # I'm not on my PC so I can't check the version number but I think its a 6. something and the newer version was 7.41 or something or other.

To continue with this driver and some people who find that sli missing come with lan network driver, I precise that when 295 whql driver was installed for the first time and when I restart my computer, my lan network driver and norton 360 was resetting...

For information :

Video bios card : 70.10.17.00.00

Hello I have the same problem. /wallbash.gif' class='bbc_emoticon' alt=':wallbash:' />

Since I reinstalled windows and the driver to 285.62 but nothing still the same problem.

It is a virus or anything on 295.73 ? 4 months waiting for that, it sucks

Hello again guys, I'm proud to tell you I found a solution! :D Use the following Realtek LAN Driver 7.46.610.2011, ftp://ftp.evga.com/driver/lan.zip
source: http://forums.nvidia.com/index.php?showtopic=219418&view=findpost&p=1350913

You have to follow these steps:
1. Reboot your Windows in Safe Mode (F8)
2. Uninstall Nvidia Drivers and Realtek LAN Drivers
3. Reboot
4. Use DriverSweeper to clean the system (I also used Ccleaner after that just for a better cleaning)
5. Reboot
6. Install Nvidia Drivers
7. Reboot
8. Nvidia SLI will be automatically recognized by the system, enable it
9. Reboot
10. Install Realtek LAN Drivers 7.46.610.2011, ftp://ftp.evga.com/driver/lan.zip
11. Reboot and you will finally have the latest 295 drivers and sli on boot forever :)

Works like a charm! /wink.gif' class='bbc_emoticon' alt=';)' />
