GTX 680 Where to buy? ATI is the only choice in 2012?
  1 / 2
I'm looking to buy Nvidia's GTX 680, but I haven't heard any news at all. I'm wondering if Nvidia plans on promoting their product or not. I'd hate to consider ATI at this point, but the Nvidia corporation isn't leaving me or the consumers much of a choice.

Who is responsible for marketing the 2012 video cards? You're about to lose business for delaying this entirely too long.

Well...I was waiting for the new cards, and I certainly find myself with plenty of time. Must first finish buying replacement MOBO and CPU after a flatline. Rather than move up, I'm stuck with a P4 630 and a GTS 450 after what you see below.

The CPU I'm hoping for isn't even out yet, either - and it was set for this month.

If patience is indeed a virtue, then I'm working on my second virginity by now I'm so full of it...
You do realize the following right:

1. Current video cards can't even fill up a 2.0 PCI-E x16 slot's bandwidth
2. The AMD newest release (7970) barely beats the 580 at anything but power consumption, and even in games it does handily beat the 580, it's in the point where "Oh I can run 100FPS instead of 80FPS" who cares if yer running VSync like a smart person...
3. The GTX 680 will trump any currently released video card, and is due out in 2 months, so buying something "NEW" now would be utterly stupid.

Consider all of that then read your post again...

1. I'm aware of the bandwidth, but the current tech my system has is 3.0

2. Well, I'm not buying GTX 580...

3. The infamous "GTX 680..." More speculation and bullshhit. Where are the FACTS?

The last video card I purchased was 3.5 years ago. I'm very eager to complete my new PC cycle. I need to know some facts about Nvidia's plans. The last I heard from Nvidia was the 4th quarter of 2011, which ended up being FAIL. So, yeah, I've been waiting for a long f'n time with no results or real information at all from team green, only speculation and bullshhit. When are we going to hear some REAL NEWS, some REAL release dates. It's ridiculous to leave people in the dark for so long.

After 3.5 years, I would assume you to have learned nVidia's policy is no different now than it has been for quite some time:

Wrong... The last time I bought a Nvidia card was in 2005.

So all this speculative ****** is just that, ******... For all we know, the GTX 680 doesn't exist and the rumored, "trumping ATI badly by 45%," is more ****** to steal sales/customers with LIES.

If nobody knows, what is the consumer to do? Obviously we can't rely on made up lies.

Where is the proof? I need a video card.
