Blu Ray DVD question
I am wanting to purchase an external 3D capable Blue Ray DVD/CDRW Drive for my Alienware Laptop. I am looking at the ASUS BW-12D1S-U right now and noticed the system requirements require NVIDIA® GeForce 7600 GT or ATI X1600 series or above. My system has a Geforce GTX 460M 1.5gb Series card. Will my card work with this Blu ray drive?

Do any of you have any other suggestions for a 3D Blu Ray drive?

I think you have to have a 3-D monitor/display if you playback 3-D movies as when i selected 3-D in my Cyberlink power DVD it say's cannot play as your monitor does not support 3-D. therefore i can only run standard Blu-Ray movies and i have 2 GTX 580's. so i don't think you can run 3-D on your laptop.

Any BD-ROM\BD-RE drive that features a 2X read speed can play 3D blu ray movies, assuming of course you have a software player installed on your computer that can handle 3D (PowerDVD is considered the best).

That said, as JLH pointed out a 3D ready display is required to achieve 3D playback.
