Skyrim Lag Getting around 20 FPS
Hi, i am new to this forum but have been searching for months for a fix.
I recently bought an ASUS Nvidia GTX 560 Ti 1gb for Christmas and before hand i had an old Nvidia GTS 250 1gb(Which Skyrim worked fine on BTW at 1920x1080)
Now i seem to be having lag moments when i go outside and look around the city, its only smooth when i am in a house, cave, castle etc... I have used all the tweaks which Nvidia have offered
(http://www.geforce.com/Optimize/OPS/Elder-Scrolls-V-Skyrim-GeForce-GTX-560-Ti-OPS and http://www.geforce.com/Optimize/Guides/the-elder-scrolls-v-skyrim-tweak-guide)
This however doesn't work aswell apart from the new Beta Driver 290.53 which upped my FPS from 10 to 20. I cant seem to find the problem help would be appreciated, thanks. MY spec is the following:
Windows 7 64-bit Service Pack 1
Intel Quad-Core Q8200 @ 2.33GHz
12gb RAM
ASUS Nvidia GTX560 Ti 1gb
1.5TB hard drive
and the skyrim i am currently playing is version 1.4

what are your graphic settings for the game itself? My system seems similar to yours and I have 45-60fps all the time. This is my settings:

Resolutions: 1366x768
antialiasing: OFF
anisotropic filtering: 2 Samples
Texture Quality: High
Radial Blur: Low
Shadow Detail: Low
Decal Quantity: High
Reflect All
Max Distance (for everything)

Try these settings and see how you do and try lowering your resolution. Unless your playing on a big HDTV, resolutions dont need to be really high.

and I am not using any tweaks, dont think they are required with the new 1.4 patch.
