A rather heartwarming story about a young scientist
This girl was homeless until yesterday and somehow managed to stay in the running for the Intel National Science Prize. I'm partial to young, homeless kids with drive --I was one myself.

That is awesome - thanks for sharing that buddie.

I am partial to anyone who overcomes gross adversity myself (hence I have chosen for myself the symbol the Saijan Prince)

Speaking of homeless people reaching their potential, My partner and I ran into a friend of ours in the city, who we have been giving money to for years now, he was homeless, his name is Leslie, and he was a heroin addict during all those years we were helping him out.

EXTREMELY intelligent man, just circumstance CONSPIRED against him and he ended up in a very bad way for a very long time.

Anyway we had not seen him for ages and he came right up to us the other day and we did not even recognize him, he had been clean of herion and tobacco for over a year as of that date, and by god he looked amazing.

He apologized profusely for accepting money from us over the years and "confessed" he was a herion addict and that he used the money to buy it, we told him that he has no need to say sorry to US, and that really he only needs to forgive HIMSELF, since that is the source of his grief.

We said we did not care, now or then, what he spent the money on, it was OUR choice to give and we did so without expecting anything in return, we saw a human being in need and we gave, because we could, end of story.

He told us that he calculated the money he had spent in the years of begging and doing heroin, and it was shocking, he earned no less than 600 dollars per day, from begging alone, and in total spent just over 8 million dollars on heroin, it was a shocking truth to accept, that he actually earned more money in a day than I currently do, from doing relatively **** all.

And furthermore, to see just how much money passes through the hands of these, so called 'bottom feeders' made me feel rather inadequate for not being a millionaire by now lol.
