Display driver stopped working and restart My Experience with Zotac
Hi,

I want to share my experience with Zotac-Support.

Display driver stopped working and restart
Screen went black, after 2-3seconds Screen back

This happens only during gaming more or less depends on the game and the mood of the graka.
Really annoying to have this during callOfDuty sometimes every 2 minutes.

Support from Zotac: Only checking if the graka meets the specification. Else none!

Graka: GTX 470, not over clocked, no AMP version.

Games: every game: CallOFDuty, Crisis2, RunesOfMagic (number of black screen more or less, seems as it depends on the mood of the graka).

Taken actions:
-Exchanged Mainboard
-Exchanged CPU
-Exchanged RAM
-Exchanged HD
-Exchanged Power supply
(Every time used other brands, except CPU)

-New Windows7 installation
-Win7 32Bit
-Win7 64Bit
-New driver, old drivers, beta drivers, alternative drivers
-Tried different driver settings
-Clocked down the GPU by Zotac-Tool

Nothing worked.

Made some tests and record system data like temperature and GPU resources.
At 90°C graka crashes.
Specification says max temperature is 105°C.

Sent Card to Zotac to check with all the information (system description)
and recorded system data.

Waited three to four weeks.
Answer Zotac: Card meets the specification.
Nothing more.
No hints, no advices...nothing.

Tried the card again. Problem still exists.
Made a video as proof and sent card to Zotac to check.

Again three to four weeks.
Answer Zotac: card meets the specification. Cooling is wrong.
Tower with two front fans, one side and one back fan. CPU-Temperature const. 30-45°C

Next Actions:
-Mainboard on the desk without Tower
-Additional cooling on Graka
-Tests
-Problem still there, now at 70°C

Contact Zotac by email
Answer: We know this issue but don't know the root.
But we can confirm that the card meets the specification.
Nothing more. No hints. Nothing.

Getting angry.

Calling Zotac Support:
-Same answer. Card meets the specification.
-No we can't help, we have no clue.

Next actions:
-Bought an AMD Graka
-Tests
-No problem anymore.

Result:
Card meets the specification must mean: This card is malfunctioned by specification.

Never again Zotac!
