PHYSX on PS2
Volumetric Fog (one of PhysX features) seemed to already exist in older platforms with less power, check out this Batman game for PlayStation 2. Doesn't it look like PhysX?

dont think PS2 or even ps3 runs physx even having nvidia GPU, think about, a GTX 8800 suffers to run physx and the GPU of PS3 is a nvidia 6000 family, much weaker, how could it run physx.

What the console uses is a phisic engine developed exclusive for the sony SO. compare Mafia 2, the PS3 version dont have physx, any other game that have physx on the PC doesnt have it on PS3.

Batman Begins have smoke but its not physx, since the xbox versio has the same smoke, and many other games have smoke but not a real time interactive smoke like on arkhan asylum on PC with physx. The smoke on console games are only visual effects, but are static or pre programed animated.

Also dont forget that PS3 runs on a openGL base, while PC and Xbox360 uses DirectX API. So it would be much more difficult to inplement the PC physx on PS3 cause of the different API plataform.
