What settings do you think I can play bf3 on Evga Geforce GTX 285 2GB SLi
Running Evga Geforce GTX 285 2GB SLi what settings do you think I can play BF3 on and how many fps?
Will be playing in 1920x1080 Res

I see that those cards SLi are a little better then a GTX 480 and the then 480 Gets like 5 fps less then a 570, so I'm thinkin SLi those are pretty much a 570 in directx11?

Other specs are:
i7-920
6gb ddr3

Lmk, thanks.

No, ultra will give you a difficult time. I would wager medium with some high sliders activated. Ultra's default uses a Post Process AA in conjunction with a full frame x4 MSAA that can cripple graphics units that do not have the VRAM headroom. You will not be able to play on "Ultra."

EDIT: To give you an idea, BF3's "ultra" utilizes each asset in independent anti-aliasing instead of a screen buffer of sorts. x2 is standard FSAA, but x4 uses a very specific rendering that is somewhat unique to Frostbite 2's engine. This method is equally demanding as say x4MSAA with x8 SSAA, as it utilizes transparency textures in the same manor. In other words it takes beyond the capabilities of your GPU configuration.

Hmm.... Well u can't play on "Ultra", since Ultra in BF3 is Dx11.
Also, yeah ur system will struggle on 4xMSAA.
U should be OK on High settings though.... The Game looks beautiful on high too :)
Also ur cpu can also be a prob.... I myself have i7 930.

My cousin has the same cpu as me i7 920
And he plays bf3 and the cpu usage stays around 40% i believe
Dont think that would be a problem

Usage alone is not the sole determining factor in what causes a CPU bottleneck.

How fast a CPU can complete its calculations is what determines a bottleneck.

You will not be able to play on ultra - more like High.
