HI

I'm facing the same trouble as you .
I think that the problem comes from the fact that LA NOIRE dont handle the optimus technolgie.
The solution i found , it's not the best way but at least the game works , is to replace the "Nvd3d9wrap.dll" by an old version when you want to play the LA NOIRE , and then put back the right version of the file whene you finish playing (it should be easy having the tow version at the same directory and just changing the name to switch between them).
I have the driver 285.62 installed on my comptuter.
I tried "Nvd3d9wrap.dll" v 8.17.12.6099 and it works. (put it in :\Program Files\NVIDIA Corporation\coprocmanager\ and dont discard your current file).

I dont know if this can cause any harm not even if the game will run with the max performance that your GPU can give but this is the only way i know until LA NOIRE release a patch taht correct the huge number of bugs in the game.

Hope it works for you (sorry if any thing is wrong with my english but i'm not used to speak neither write in it).

I've been having the same general problem, but when I try to apply the "fixed" file to my Nvidia driver, I'm getting locked out because of permissions on my PC...which makes no sense, as I'm an admin on my system. Any advice to fix this?

Edit: Scratch that, I was hitting the wrong folder. Now it's whining about the file being in use...*grumbles*

what the hell nvidia, why this is the second game that doesn't work as it should, same thing with sonic generations. i have to register here, find and replace system files or choose second display mode for the games to work, why? i thought nvidia drivers was best, well, it's not the end of the world of course, maybe the games developers are responsible for this as well, but i wish you tested the technology thoroughly before releasing it.

place it in c:\Program Files (x86)\NVIDIA Corporation\coprocmanager\

use unlocker program to rename the original file, and back it up

well, that didn't work. the game started, but it's using intel graphics

OK, This solution worked for me on my new Dell XPS L702X with the newest drivers downloaded from Dell.
It will NOT work if the new file is put into :\Program Files\NVIDIA Corporation\coprocmanager....
You must put it in c:\Program Files (x86)\NVIDIA Corporation\coprocmanager\

Hey there,

I just put the new file in the folder as you said (of course kept my original .dll file for exchange) and it also worked for me, so thanks for the tip. Unfortunately the game is not running smoothely at all, even in the lowest settings (which I would expect using a new Dell XPS 17 with a GT 555 3Gb). Do you happen to have the same problem? Is it running on the Intel Graphics Processor now? Just out of interest... (I'll probably uninstall the game and wait until Rockstar has fixed their NVIDIA Optimus-compatibility problems). /dry.gif' class='bbc_emoticon' alt='' />
