Batman: Arkham City in 3D Vision
  1 / 15
Hi

I am starting this thread early to get people excited about the game.

First off if you want to see how the game will look, head on over to 3DVisionLive.com. I've got galleries posted there showing main characters, fighting, swooping, posing, and swooping all in 3D.

On the driver side, make sure you have 285.79 or higher drivers installed and you will be all ready to go.

This game is going to be awesome in 3D and I guarantee you will have a great time.

The original game (Arkham Asylum) has driver bugs with this driver 285.79 can you be sure that these bugs are not in Arkham City when it is released on the 25th?
If you wish to reproduce a crash which myself and 3 other forum users can do on Arkham Asylum start a challenge mode and play either the map Invisible Predator or Invisible Predator Extreme. Crash ONLY occurs if PhysX set to HIGH.

Tested by me on my GTX 580 (3GB) and another forum user on their GTX 570. Game consistently crashes with nvcuda.dll problem or bm-game.exe has crashed and needs to close, offending module RRB.dll (Rigid Bodies PhysX .dll)

Last driver to work correctly is 275.33

John

EDIT

Back on topic I am really looking forward to Arkham City and keep checking Steam each day for the preload to start! Although I do not have a 3D setup I will enjoy the game anyway.

Batman AA looked amazing in 3D. Brought the game to life... so much so that the game in unplayable in 2D. I never had no issues with AA, I can only imagine what AC is going to look like.

Looking forward to it.

One thing I notice about 3D games like AA is the effect 'glass' has. In 3D, glass shimmers. The effect is so realistic, I'm amazed I'm even looking into a monitor. I notice the same effect on water. STUNNING!!!

I built a brand new system complete with a GTX 580 3GB Lightning Extreme just for this game!

It's released tomorrow right?

Btw Andrew, the latest drivers have broken the shadows for PhysX stuff in Arkham Asylum.

Can't wait to play this game, I only ever tried the first one because it was a '3D Vision Ready' title and it turned out to be one of my favorite games ever.

Does anyone know what time the Steam version unlocks? I'm trying to decide if I want to take a day off from work tomorrow to play this lol...

Steam page for AC says approx 3 hours, so midnight 0:00 EST 11/22.

Looking forward to this as well, if anyone has an extra Steam code from GeForce promotion for sale LMK. :)

I assume this means it will work well in 3D Surround as well? Right Andrew? Bueller, Bueller....

I think I'll stay at 280.26 since everything works well with this driver....for the most part.

Thanks, my page was messed up, just unlocked and I'm downloading now. 16.5GB! Will be a busy day tomorrow between this and the BF3 patch. :D Thanks Nvidia for helping to bring some AAA titles in 3D.

Hello,

I am having issues with shadows in 3dvision mode.

It looks like the shadows are very very different between my eyes, which ends up giving the models a flickering effect where one eye sees shadow and the other does not. Reducing the 3d depth helped reduce the issue, but it still persists.

Here is my setup:

- gtx 560 ti display gpu, with gts 250 for physx, running drivers version 285.79
- Crucial C300 SSD
- Acer HN274H display

Thanks for any advice you can provide!

Experimenting some more, it actually seems that it isn't the shadows that are the issue, but textures themselves aren't being wrapped around models the same for both eyes. Looking at the couch next to the window in the opening scene of the game, my left eye sees the split between the couch cushions in the center of the couch. The right eye shows this part of the texture shifted over to the right, and not mapping correctly to the model.

Here's a screenshot where you can clearly see the issue on the couch cusions: http://i.imgur.com/bkGUH.jpg

High, but not very high. There is no slider in the options specific to textures.

I can't find any way to this desplay menu. How do you access it? It isn't in 3D and I can't find any desplay settings anywhere in this game. I am very frustrated.

I am experiencing bad stuttering and frame rate drops when running this with the DX11 features on. When I disable these features and run in DX9, I do not experience any of this. From what I am reading around on the internet, a lot of people are having the same issues with DX11. The game still looks great in DX9 but I am hoping this issue will be fixed with a patch or drivers so I can play in DX11.
