Having the same issues mate. Erratic gpu usage in browsers and TDR's. Definitely didn't encounter this before the 280 drivers.

You should really first check your card. This issue is not common, at least I have not seen it elsewhere.

And it seems that TDR issue is affecting Intel P67/Z68 more.

It's definitively not a hardware incompatibility.
Everything works great with 275.xx drivers.

I'll stay with this version until the new 290.xx stable version is released

Hi there.

Read the first suggestion I have here:
http://forums.nvidia.com/index.php?showtopic=193106&st=540&gopid=1313581&#entry1313581

The crashing is most likely caused by thwe Adaptive power mode. After changing it to performance, remember to reboot the PC (mine didn't take effect until reboot every time I have changed it to another mode).

Hope this helps

I'm having a similar experience. No problems prior to 280.xx drivers. The 280 drivers seemed to introduce some weird power cyclign bug which produced multiple TDR's. With so many people having the same issue I doubt it's a hardware related.

I got a Firefox crash using 285.62 drivers on Win7 x64, GTX 460. TDR error. Never seen a Firefox crash related to drivers before, even with 280.xx drivers.

I think you have quoted wrong person. I do blame drivers and only drivers.
