This is the exact error I get

Windows has stopped this device because it has reported problems. (Code 43)

after installing the drivers.

I am on windows 7 ultimate 64 bit, core 2 duo 2.2, 4 gb ram, nvidia gt 240m. drivers install fine, but on reboot, im on a standard vga driver, with an exclamation point in device manager over my 240m with this error message. any help?

Any news on that? No fix after long time, last working drivers ( without code 43 ) are more than year old.

Problem also appears when updating 8600m gt (see here http://forums.nvidia.com/index.php?showtopic=229009). Latest working driver I found is 275.50.

ManuelG, has this been fixed?

From what I last communicated with Daniel@NV, he told me that you folks were looking for a Y550 with an older BIOS to test it out. What is the status of this now?
