Trackmania 2: Canyon SLI?
  1 / 2
I just purchased Trackmania 2 and I noticed the game has no SLI profile! I tried to force SLI but there is no performance gain at all, actually i think it might run worse. The game looks really amazing and as it stands currently I can't run it maxed out on my single GTX460.

Any word on a SLI profile update for this game?

Nope I haven't... I didn't know they had released an SLI Profile patch! Thanks!

I just tried the SLI patch.. it does enable SLI but the performance is pretty crappy only 55-60% GPU usage on each GPU. Also micro-stuttering like crazy its almost unplayable!

I think this game either needs to be better optimized for SLI or Nvidia needs a driver update!

Any update on an offical SLI profile for this game? The game is offically released now as of 9/14/2011, my GTX460 SLI setup should be able to run this maxed out but I have to turn down the settings quite a bit to get a smooth framerate.

I'm only seeing ~40-60% GPU usage in SLI so clearly some room for improvement!! Thing is when I run without SLI I get pretty much the same performance, so it appears the game isn't taking advantage of SLI at all.

I was messing with the SLI profile settings for Trackmania 2: Canyon all morning and found settings which make it run great!! Nvidia should use these profile settings officially it runs flawlessly! /biggrin.gif' class='bbc_emoticon' alt='' />
The profile setting for Nvidia Inspector below gets rid of all the stuttering & framerate drops which happened with no profile or the EVGA profile. I included a benchmark showing performance for Single GPU, SLI (No Profile) & SLI (Custom Profile).
Hey man, did you find any other tricks? I changed the inspector profile to what you said, and the performance is still awful. I have 3 gtx580s and the SLI sucks in trackcanyon 2. it ran alot better only reading one of the CPUS. did you tweak any of the other settings?

Try changing the GPU/CPU Synchro settings in the TM2 Launcher under Compatibility, i set mine to 2 Frames as i have 2 GTX460s. You might want to set yours to 3 Frames as you have 3-way SLI. The game doesn't seem to be optimized at all for SLI and Nvidia has yet to release an official profile, so my settings are only guess work.

This should be fixed in the upcoming driver.

I'm trying the new 285.62 driver (clean install, default profiles) on GTX480 SLI, there are huge drops in performance. Beta driver with unofficial SLI profile works much better.

Well that is a shame, by chance does changing the profile settings back to the ones I supplied fix the performance?

Yes, changing SLI compatibility bits to 0x00500045 makes it smooth again. GPU load is slightly lower (~80% each), but very stable with no drops like when using the official SLI profile.

Well at least those settings still work... Hopefully Nvidia will get this fixed up properly soon. Hell they could use the SLI Profile settings I have here for all I care, at least they work.

I haven't seen any problems here. Nadeo fixed the only other SLI bug I saw with the last game patch.
The only difference I see with the Official SLI profile & My profile settings is mine runs significantly faster!
