Windows Experience Index with 280.26 ION driver
I’ve just finished installing the latest driver for my ASUS 1215N notebook (http://www.asus.com/Eee/Eee_PC/Eee_PC_1215N) running Windows 7 32bit. I realized that the Windows Experience Index is now set to 2.3 because of the graphic component (desktop performance for windows aero). Every other component is rated above 3 (see attachment). If I remember correctly, prior to the driver update the base score was 3.3.
Another interesting issue is that the tool keep saying: “new hardware detected; your windows experience index needs to be refreshed”, and no matter how many times I clicked the “refresh now” button or the “re-run the assessment” link, it still shows that exact phrase with the yellow explanation point near it.
I already tried a suggested Microsoft kb article: http://support.microsoft.com/kb/933478 (method 4) but the problem still present. Again, all of these happen right after installing the 280.26 ION drivers.
Thanks :)

I have same problem. My Windows Experience Index is now 6.0 instead of 7.2. Today i change my monitor, now my resolution is 1440x900 instead of 1027x768. But less 1.2 points for Windows Experience Index is to much.

Edit:
I reinstall 275.33 and my rating is now again 7.2

I’ve also downgraded the driver to 275.33 and tried refresh the experience index, but had no change and it still 2.3 (when it should be 3.3). However in this version of the driver, when I switch between 720p and 1080p in full screen mode at YouTube, I’m getting an error message and the Internet explorer restart the current tab. I'm switching back to the newest driver hopefully someone can tell me how to fix the experience index with it.

BTW, what machine do you have? Is it a notebook, laptop or what?

I have a similar problem with my MSI cx623-089xeu (http://tinyurl.com/64ftzwy). Before installing any driver for the NVIDIA GeForce 310M CUDA 1GB graphics device my Windows Experience Index for Aero is 4.5 (due to the integrated Intel HD Graphics with latest drivers), but after installing NVIDIA driver 280.26 the WEI drops to 4.1. the 3D goes up from 5.3 to 5.8 the rest stays the same.
Im Running Windows 7 Professional 64bit with service pack 1 (build 7601)
