Corsair H100 on my doorstep today WOOT

So had a package waiting for me today..................

After a few 3d photos for the 3d vision live site ill be installing this badboy

Heres the pics. Ill put some up now and once ive had a nap ill post some more. Took untill 3am to finnish and was up a few short hours later with kids .

Overall it was very fun. Some wrong turns, bad ideas but i worked through it. Note to AMD users thinking of the H100, the gents over at corsair must not think us AMD peeps run anything but stock coolers as unlike the intel peeps who recived the entire mounting bracket with backplate we amd users must hunt down the original cpu heatsink mounting brackets. Small misunderstanding, i used the backplate from the H70 and managed to find the original bracket for the frontside of the mobo to hold down the heatsink.
The mod to the 560 went so fast i almost laughed when it was all done.........15min later. I had it complete befor seeing that with a little extra effort i could keep the stock cover, this required me to rip it all down and redo the whole thing including the TIM , sucked yes but glad i spent the addional 15mins as it really finnished well imo.

cpu temps are 18-19c where average is 19-22c (no load temps yet) @ 1000rpm on all four fans
gpu temp is 34-35c where average is 54-56c OC @ 950 (no load temps yet), using corsair stock H100 fans @ 1000rpm VERY HAPPY WITH THIS

Here are some pics, sorry as it was very late and i was tired, pics were not a priority

yes i will.
3d shots did not work so well . Perhaps better luck with the instal shots.

Have to stop by Home Depot and pick up extra long screws for the two new Ultra Kaze fans, with the two i have on my H70 ill be doing a push/pull x4 Ultra Kaze fans on the H100 off my fan controller. The pump only controls the fan speed based on liquid temps........i want more control than that.

Good luck man, keep us updated ! :)

Two 3000RPM Ultra Kazes? You might as well just put your head in a jet engine now.......

Are you going to do a comparison of the H100 and H50? I'm sure a lot of people would be very interested in such a thing, myself included.

Lol, you need a fan controller for fans like that. Hopefully Craven has one. My Koolance 120mm's are ultra powerful, and sound like a wind tunnel. I keep them on the lowest at all times and they are still way more powerful then standard 120mm's.

PS. Like the new Signature.

Hmmm.. interesting.. it should nicely fit my Fractaldesign DEFINE R3 (http://www.fractal-design.com/?view=product&category=2&prod=48)

When I'll upgrade my i7 950 to a 990X this would be a nice plus.

Picked up the last of the things i need for a instal tonight. Longer screws and rubberwashers for a 6 fans (six you say, but i thought it was a 4x push/pull BUT you would have forgot about a small mod to my 560ti with a now unused H70 watercooler+leftover H100 stock fans )

Pretty major project as i have to gut the pc. backplate cutout and my cpu dont line up. While im in there ill be dusting off fans/components, cleaning up the wiring, sleeving 4 new fans, fixing a cold cathod uv lite that only lights up halfway along the tube because i extended the wires...thats a no no i have since found out lol. Ill be losing most of the temp probes for a better/cleaner looking case. The last project if i have time/if it works will be to mod the 560ti with a H70.

Pretty much a full nights work. Ill take lots of snaps and be posting later.

I'll not buy it now.. but later this year.

Why? It's a six core with HT and an unlocked multiplier. And it's the top supported cpu on my mainboard. (Asus P6X58D-E)

But I'm not in any hurry. My 950 is stable at 4.2 ghz even in this hot summer :)

I wonder how high can a 990X be clocked with an H100... 5ghz x 6 cores would be sweet!

I doubt you would be able to get past 4.5Ghz on an H100 - unless you got a golden chip with amazingly low voltages.

hmm.. well even 4.2 x 6 would be great :)
I'll wait for the price to come down a little more.

Well my point being, you could get a P67 system for almost the same cost as a 990x and it would outperform the 990x in every way except super duper multithreaded tasks, that quite frankly don't exist yet in the real world. Even the AMD hexacore chips, are kind of a waste. I'd turn two of the cores off, and use the lack of heat and energy consumption for overclocking. If you have a 950, you really dont need a 990x for the kinda money it will still cost. Not attacking your or anything, just saying.
