GTX550 Ti vs GTS250
  1 / 2
Is GTX550 Ti much faster than old GTS250?

I have checked some GTX550 Ti reviews, but they lack GTS250 in benchmark tests.

Yes it is.. But if I were you I would invest the extra $20 or so and get a GTX 460 1Gb.. for around the same price its much faster than the GTX 550 Ti

I upgraded from a GTS 250 to a GTX 560 and I can tell you that you can't play all games max settings in 1680x1050...

Thats not a review, thats a theoretical assessment of the cards based on their technical specs... the cards are too far part to find a review on them.. find a review of the gtx 550 vs the gts 450.. then a review of the gts 450 vs the gts 250 and you'll see how much further ahead the 550 is then the 250 /wink.gif' class='bbc_emoticon' alt=';)' />

??? GTS 250 run very nice games in 1680x1050. Cod4, MW2, BO. many games run very smooth with that card. I upgrade from GTS 250 Elite Group 512mb to a GTX 570. and not much difference.

I played all the games in 1680x1050 with this spects:

CPU: AMD Atlhon II x4 260 2.60ghz
GPU: Elite Group 250 GTS 512mb
RAM: 4GB ddr2 667mhz.

I played to the last year all games maxed out 1680x1050 with 16x in my old LG Flatron 22". i have today the GTS 250 if u like I upload a video from any game with this card in 1680x1050.

And finish, in many games the GTS 250 run better than 450 and 550.

You see no increase because your CPU is horribly bottlenecking the GTX570. If you overclocked the CPU you would see massive increases in FPS. A GTX570 has approx 4x the performance of a GTS250.

A GTS250 is a rebanded 9800GTX. SLI 9800GTXs perform around the same as a single GTX460, which is only slightly faster than the 550Ti.

Simply put, the GT550Ti is around 2x as powerful as the GTS250.

So GTS 250 is better than GTS 450?
Because i have GTS 450 1 GB, and i am not to happy with performance. I play on resolution 1280x1024. Before i had 9800 GT, comparing 9800 GT and GTS 450 1 GB, GTS 450 1 GB is only for 5 % faster.

MY PC:

CPU- AMD X4 955 BE
RAM- 4 GB
PSU- XFX 550
Windows 7 Ultimate x64

How did you come to that conclusion? The GTS450 is better.

The reason you see no performance increase is due to CPU bottlenecking once again - due to the tiny resolution you play at.

No CPU is not bottlenecking me. CPU is more than sufficient.
So if i bought monitor from 22" i should see better performance?

If you monitor GPU usage, you will see that the GTS450 is working ~half~ as hard as the 9800GT to output similar FPS.

What you think about this combination?
GTX 460 1 GB + Full HD monitor 22"

Or maybe my GTS 450 1 GB should be enough?

I see Raptor that the concept of tru-put or bottlenecking was wasted upon this group.

Raptor is giving yall some top notch advice here, and I would recommend you understand how a PC uses its hardware and how one part of your PC can in fact handicap the entire setup. Hes not telling you this because he likes to see his words in print, hes doing so to save you some time and money and also to try and educate you about the hardware you are using.

So you can continue to ignore his advice. But in the end you will have power you are unable to access which in turn is a huge waste. So knock yourself out and fight the ppl trying to help you, and we will see you again I am sure.

Good Luck
