GeForce GT 525m driver problem.Pleeeease help.
  1 / 2
Hey all

Just recieved my new dell laptop and already having problems when playing my favourite game (footie manager 2011). I'll load the game up then about 10 minutes in it crashes with a loud buzzing noise and I get the famous "display driver nvidia windows kernal mode driver version 265.94 stopped responding and has recovered" .I then have to start my game all over again.

Heres my main problem - nvidia has an up to date driver (270.61) for my graphics card so I downloaded it but when installing it stops and says "the graphics driver could not find compatible graphics hardware". I then went to the dell site and looked at there drivers but the most up to date driver on their site was the one I already have.Ive even tried the 270.61 modified drivers but that didnt install either.
My card is the Ge Force GT 525m which includes all the hd audio, 3d vision and all that. The laptop also comes with the intel hd graphics 3000.

Any suggestions will be very much apreciated as its driving me insane. All I want to do is something simple like play a game on a machine ive spent alot of money on.

Thanks

Joe

I got DELL Inspiron 15R (N5110) black, i7-2630QM 2.0Ghz, 15.6"(1366x768), GF GT 525M-1GB, 6GB, 640GB space, Win7 OS.

I've installed "270.61-notebook-win7-winvista-32bit-international-whql" and I can barely run good games such as CoD: Black Ops.

*So I got the same problem:
Bought video card GeForce GT 525M - 1GB
But it shows I got Intel HD Graphics 3000 - 256 MB

Please help with this issue,
David

I feel your pain mate. I have the intel hd 3000 graphics too and the gt 525m. Its just this bloody 265.94 driver thats giving me grief but it wont allow me to install any other driver.
Its ridiculous.Whenever I try and install any other driver other than the one it came with (265.94) I get whats in the attached pic.

Thank you for your thoughts.

So what exactly, step by step, I should do to make my GeForce GT 525M work on 32bit?

Hehe /wink.gif' class='bbc_emoticon' alt=';)' />. Well, I think the only way to make GeForce work is to get Win7 64 bit and so whole driver set with 64 bits... but hadn't tryed this yet.

Edit: Installed memory (ram): 6GB but usage is at 3.16GB because of 32bit Win7 OS. It's a must to have 64bit Windows for using full RAM. Anyways... gotta hope 64bits will work as they should and fix this issue ;].

I think I may have found the solution although its not an ideal one. Ive uninstalled the nvidia drivers and now its just running off of the intel hd 3000 graphics drivers. The game hasnt crashed yet and the laptop seems to be running fine. I guess this is just a quick fix until a decent driver comes out.

Windows (XP/2k/2k3/Vista/7) x86 Driver solution.

In order to install nVidia GPU 525 M you must install Intel HD Graphics first (this notebooks have dual GPUs)
for built-in display is INTEL GRAPHICS and for HDMI/DVI output is nVidia.

Drivers and order to install:

nVidia GT 525M Series (drv ver. 8.17.12.6683 or ForceWare 66.83)

as we well know forceware will install a desktop vga driver but it works
hope its useful for you guys for me it worked

Just a heads up, that would actually be ForceWare 266.83

i have just found this thread today, because i have the same problem, no driver support was found in my new N5110...
ethernet cable driver, sound and a few other things are working, but i really cant install the Geforce!
i have tried to install Intel 3000 driver as said and linked above, but it tells me "your configuration is not enough for this program" thats ridiculous! and of course i still cant install the 525M driver itself.

help me please (:

same problem with N5110. i can not use the 525m card to play PES unless i use external display. there is the option in the nvidia settings to tell which video card (the high performance nvidia processor or the integrated graphics) to use for a specific programm but it does not work. the drivers are the latest from dell. the version is 268.30

I have the solution! I had exactly the same problem on my acer laptop. You need to download the latest driver form NVIDIA and Modify the file, it's really simple.
