Lg 47ld950 3dtv 100% depth and no ghosting.Sweet!
  1 / 4
*Update*

As you can see in the 100% depth with 3dtvplay there is zero ghosting, using a sammy c750 these images would of been full of ghosting.
However there is still a very small amount of ghosting in the odd place, and do mean a very small amount!

**Update**

I cannot get bluray 3d working or checkerboard, its very sad that i have this problem, new pics are from Monsters vs Aliens .

For me allso i'm having a terrible time with checkerboard, the artifacts are present in checkerboard gaming are present in 3d bluray aswelll making them all unwatchable, still anything SbS plays perfect, wether thats games or films.

As you can see checkerboard gives terrible 3d performance, silly me forgot to take a picture in the same place so i used the next high contrst shot a few more min into Bulletstorm.
3dtplay is at 100% depth and there is zero ghosting, love it!

UPDATE

Well well well.....
So i now have line interlaced working with 100% no clolour bug.

Before i was using dvi to hdmi and had the terrible checkerboard/line interlaced colour bug that the ld950 has.

Now i used a dvi adapter and a vga cable to pc input on tv. With this setup the tv will not allow for any 3d options so the only way to get 3d this way is to use line interlaced as the tv supports this natively.
I do'nt know if its because i'm using a dvi single link adapter or not but games only have a res upto 1600x1200, i allso had to make a custom resolution in nvidia control panel for 1920x1080 as windows 7 did'nt have this res option.
So now i need to order a dual link dvi adapter to see if i can correct the problem i now have for resolutions.

I can confirm though that the colourbug is'nt present using pc input and line interlaced.

**UPDATE**

I now have working interlaced 3d over hdmi with no colorbug, not sure if the fix is relevent to nvidia only, may work for amd may not.
The fix consists of deleting the extension blocs from the edid, this wipes the info for hdmi 1.4 spec so amd hd3d ect no longer works.
if you would like to try the fix just follow the following guide to delete your own extension block.

Mocca don't wory about that tv,he just don't have problem that kind. The passive method just don't have that problem, that problem is reserved for active shutter glasses, so for your tv is that impossible.I have him on the test and i like it no battery, light glasses, come with 4 pair glasses.
Only weakness is that the material in 3d is limited quality like 720p,but picture is still great.Definetly you buy right tv, glad you enjoy it.

If someone want s to see this topic ruined i have the measurements and conclusions here.

Resolution loss means you have to watch at quite a distance.

Hi Mocca,

can you give us a little review?

How did you install the 47ld950?
Do the NVIDIA driver and video-player working well or did you use other drivers?
How is the blue-ray support for this display (heise.de wrote that it need a patch)?

And for me important: Are there any ghostings 1.5m distance? What's the viewable min-distance; have you still a well 3D-effect at 1.2m?
I plan to put a passive display on my desktop.

Are there in generel any users who plays with a 3DTV on their desktop? How is the 3d-experience?

I was wondering what the minimum distance was too, if there is one. I'm using a 46" 3dTV and its 2'8" away from me and i wouldn't have it any farther since it would reduce my FOV into the world, which is only about 20% more than my old Dell 30".

At CES 2011, there were many passive displays with double the horizontal resolution to account for the 50% loss when using polarized glasses. (which i was hoping might then make for a great computer monitor.

BTW, can you still change your depth and convergence amount with that TV?

Also, could you take a photo through the glasses again, but of the screen in 2D mode, to give us an idea of what the resolution loss looks like?

I'm not sure if there are any technical restrictions for passiv glasses.

The polarized-slide on my Zalman ZM220 is very angle dependent. It seems that you skew look through the gummed-slide on the display into the wrong pixel line.
Raising your head only 5" results heavy ghostings.

I'm afraid that larger displays only allows ghost-free experience at higher distances. So that at short distances only the center is perfect separeted.

such white backlit LCD display has 3-4% optical efficiency , now you cut that in half, it has no fill factor either , extremely bad screendoor effect, it's a dead end.

How can you think this is any good?

Have'nt tried a blu-ray 3d yet but SbS play ghost free and looks lots better than samsungs c750 3dtv.
Installed using dvi-d from pc to hdmi cable.
No ghosting at 1.5m away even at 100% depth, i got the measuring tape out, still great 3d effect at 1.2m and still very playable.

Ok, now its on my desktop, the most things works fine.
The view is impressive! I'm 99% satisfied.
But there is still left some very small ghostings, but it's ok.

And thanks to you and http://blog.bagearon.com for the EDID.

BTW: Has someone gave nVidia a copy of the 47ld950-EDID?
