GeForce 7150M/nForce 630M driver
I have an HP Pavilian dv2610us with an NVIDIA GeForce 7150M / nForce 630M. My operating system is Windows 7 Professional 64-bit. Device Manager says this about my current driver:

Driver Provider: NVIDIA
Driver Date: 3/6/2009
Driver Version: 7.15.11.7967
Digital Signer: Microsoft Windows Hardware Compatibility Publisher

I'm pretty sure this driver came from Windows Update because the last driver on the HP website is really old ( Date: 2007-11-09 , Version: 7.15.11.5665 A, 130.51M) and I can't find my current driver on the NVIDIA website. I did find a beta driver on the NVIDIA website, and I'm wondering which would be the best one to have for gaming graphics (Civilization V recommended that I install the latest beta driver...)

Version: 179.48 BETA
Release Date: 2009.02.11
Operating System: Windows Vista 64-bit, Windows 7 64-bit

So the release date for the Beta driver is a month older...but does that necessarily mean that the one I have is better? Especially when I can't find the one that I have on the NVIDIA website? My chip is on the list of supported devices for this release... It's just hard to know which is better when the version numbers aren't necessarily comparable.

Thanks for any insight or advice!!

Well, never mind I guess. I just tried to install that beta driver and I get an error saying that I don't have the intended operating system (Win7 64-bit)...which I do, but I'll just take it as sign that the one I have installed now is the best one. Can't seem to find a way to delete my original post, otherwise I'd just do that...
