Nvidia 3D Vision glases + Sony PS3 = I love nvidia
  1 / 2
I have a great offer for nvidia.
Contact Sony Corporation, and discuss the contract for the compatibility of your 3D Vision glasses for use with all 120 Hz PC monitors and Playstation 3 (for viewing all 3D content).
It is better to make a similar move with the release of Gran Turismo 5 to get the maximum profit. All customers will thank you!
This is especially true now that the producers have not been able to agree on a common standard for 3d, and TVs with glasses are sky-high money ...
ps Sorry my English)

You even know themselves?)
About link: Optima correct its mistakes is related with the definition of the projector, but it is not help.
None of the TVs that are sold without any 3D glasses in the set are not suitable for the ps3, since Sony believes that in order to view the 3d All the same, need glasses ...) With the projector exact same story. If a projector with 3D glasses it will cost more than the most expensive 3D TVs. Of course 3D glasses to the projector (if they) will not support 120 Hz monitor with ps3, because it is not officially, ps3 use only a formal model in 3D mode. The more likely transmitter synchronization will be built into the projector.
I propose to use Nvidia as a supplier of accessories for ps3, and not reinvent the wheel with drivers and video cards. All the rest of Sony.

in firmware PS3:

sub Playstation3_Start()
if xxx(monitor) = TV.EDID(fullHD.120Hz) then
if xxx(usb) = USB.Nvidia.3DVision then
msgbox "3D mode is ready..."
else
msgbox "3D mode not ready..."
else
msgbox "3D mode not ready..."
end if
end if
end sub

DLP projectors cost 700 usd with glasses ( DLP Link) , you can make screen yourself (DIY)

720p + LCD monitor = scaling artifacts
scaling artifacts + short distance = ugly
long distance + small monitor = mickey mouse 3d

http://forums.nvidia.com/index.php?showtop...20&start=20
check this topic I tried my best to cover differences , LCD vs DLP

ps.: I think hdmi 1.4 was made to lock DLP projectors out.

Thanks
700 usd is real good news)

But if we rely on the last paragraph, it follows that even if we find a bypass 1.4, probably next firmware on ps3 closes the hole. So I still thinking in this situation.
Not quite understand:
"720p + LCD monitor = scaling artifacts"
If it Upscaling. Upscaling from far away to be seen. 2 meters at 32 ". If use the PS3's game 720p + Upscaling on 24" fullHD monitor 120Hz HDMI and distance 1,5 meters, i'm think this is normal. Xbox360 proved it to us. Run Fable2 on 1080p)
Thanks

mitshubishi already has hdmi 1.4 -> 1.3 adapter ;) It checks for mitsubishi EDID , works with ps3. 100 usd

Some company , made an 1.4 -> 1.3 adapter for Samsung DLP TV's, 200 usd.

I think optoma solution will work with DLP_Link projectors be it optoma , acer, anything. Not much difference under the hood ;)

I still have to buy this for my samsung DLP to play some PS3 games... Too busy with projector and the fact PS3 3D gaming is pathetic so far isn't helping.
