NVIDIA GeForce 7300 GS
I have XP Pro 32 bit SP3 and the XP system information (msinfo32) says my video is NVIDIA GeForce 7300 GS.

I am trying to make sure I have the correct driver since I have some BSODs.

When I look at the video section of my msinfo23 information it looks like this:

Name NVIDIA GeForce 7300 GS
PNP Device ID PCI\VEN_10DE&DEV_01DF&SUBSYS_22001682&REV_A1\4&243D7BD0&0&0070
Adapter Type GeForce 7300 GS, NVIDIA compatible

IRQ Channel IRQ 18

Driver c:\windows\system32\drivers\nv4_mini.sys (6.14.12.5896, 10.11 MB (10,604,128 bytes), 4/5/2006 8:03 PM)

I found the drivers section here and see the version July 10, 2020 version 258.96 but can't seem to get it installed and am going to try again.

The reason I don't think it is installed is the XP information says the installed driver is nv4_disp.dll and I think that is just some generic XP driver.

I want to make sure I am downloading the correct driver. Is 258.96 the correct version for my hardware?

I would like to know if the nv4_disp.dll is just a XP generic driver (that is just what I think it is so I don't know if I am right about that).

I would like to know what the XP system information should say when I get done installing the correct driver - is nv4_disp.dll just totally wrong for me and will the system information say something NVIDIAish and what will it say?

How can I verify with 100% certainly that after I think I have installed the NVIDIA driver (assuming it goes smoothly), that the correct NVIDIA driver is installed... what should I see in the system information?

The 258.96 should work fine on your system. I have a 7900GT which works great with this driver. Maybe you should give a shot on the new 259.31 beta.
