BSOD on startup after enabling SLI
Hi guys. Having trouble with my setup. Recently updated to Win 7 Ultimate 64bit. Have occasionally been getting BSOD's on start-up, however I just got those 3d Glasses and now I am having more problems. I can get the drivers to install fine and reboot. Install the second part of the drivers no worries and reboot. I then activate SLI and play games in 3d fine with no crashes or blue screens.

However after rebooting when enabling SLI I get a BSOD when windows is loading, says nv..... so it's definitely something to do with the display driver. The only way it will load in is if I do a system restore and enable SLI again to start gaming. Getting quite annoying having to repeat system restoring it. I have tried uninstalling the drivers and using driver sweeper to resolve this twice now with no luck. I am using the 197.13 driver also.

Thanks in advance :)

EDIT: Just noting that the computer starts fine if I reboot without having enabled SLI.

The BSOD is - DRIVER_IRQL_NOT_LESS_OR_EQUAL | STOP | nvlddmkm.sys 0x0000000D1

Dang so no universtal fix then. Ok here's my specs in more detail..

Core i7 965 @3.3ghz - 133x25
Corsair TR3X6G2000C8GT @1857 MHz
EVGA e760 BIOS - E760S61J, 1.1.26.0
EVGA GTX 285 Factory superclocked
Alienware AW2310

Have uninstalled the 197.13 driver and have no got the 195.66 driver running. The system has booted up no problems this time with SLI active. Had other BSOD's which I had not seen before - SYSTEM_SERVICE_EXCEPTION with the nvlddmkm.sys as the fault before I unstalled 197.13..

I experience the same issue here, with GTX285
When SLI enabled, at startup of windows 7 utlimate, 64 bits, I got BSOD.
Moreover I don't have any issue while playing games when sli enabled. The only issue is when I reboot, while sli enabled.

I need to boot on safe mode to uninstall driver.

I tried on 197.45 WHQL and 196.31 WHQL, and the issue remains.

My complete setup is :
Motherboard : Asus Rampage Gene II
Processor : core i7 920 (stock frequencies)
RAM : 3*2Go Corsair XMS
GPU : 2xTwintech GTX285 (stock frequencies)
HDD : Raid 0 2xSamsung F3 500Go
Power supply : Seasonic M12D 850W

Do you have any idea where does it come from?

Thank you in advance for your support..

maybe there is a slight chance that the overclock on your 285's is unstable. Probably not but I would at least temporarily down clock them a bit so it can be ruled out.

ok problem seems to be solved now..:)
I've just updated my motherboard bios.
I've done this because my bsod was due to irq problem.

I've rebooted many times and all seems ok now..:)
