You are not currently using a display attached to an Nvidia GPU Serious problems as no games can run
  1 / 4
Hi, I have a Nvidia GeForce 6200 for a while now and it worked fine. Recently due to some PC problems I formatted my HD and installed Windows 7. I reinstalled all drivers(latest) but when I try to open any game or even the Nvidia control panel problems occur.
When I select the Nvidia Control Panel it says
"You are not currently using a display attached to an Nvidia GPU" I assume this means that the monitor is not connected to the card(which it is).
When I try to open a game like FIFA 10 it says hardware graphics acceleration is needed.
When I try to open a particular program it says Direct3D 8 is in software mode and it will run extremely slow.

Please help.

Code 43 would be hardware error. Your GPU could be bad, I would try it in another PC and if it displays the same behavior. If so then thats what warranties are for.

Thanks for all the help
I finally got it to work by installing some older vista drivers but how do I know if the next driver release would work on my PC.

With respect sir I would suggest looking for a more up to date card, the 6200 is very dated now and only has dx 9 support, there has been 9c, 10, 10.1 and now 11.
with Gf100 around the corner you could get some great deals on a later card.

Rick.
