Dude.....9400 GTs fail at gaming, epically fail. Go with dual 9600's, 8800's, or 9800's. Maybe even 260 core 16 if you can afford it.

I agree with Gateway's assessment. Even a single 9500GT would be better than 9400GTs in SLI. 9400GTs are for those who just want to be able to run a monitor and play Windows Chess Titans.

Yes. More memory does not mean better. Please see here. This is a review of the 512MB version. The 1GB version wont do any better...

http://www.xsreviews.co.uk/reviews/graphic...9400gt-512mb/6/

"Unfortunately the 9400GT does not yield itself to be a graphics card for the gamer with its unfortunately poor performance in most titles tested. However though, given its silence, it would make a perfect companion for a HTPC with it being capable of playing HD content – silently."

EDIT: Depending on your monitor. Ask them if they can substitute the two 9400's with something like a 9600GT/9800GT/9800GTX. Someting along those lines should do you to where you would atleast be able to play some games at acceptable framerates.

Look dude, 9400gt= FAIL, 9500gt=FAIL,8500gt=FAIL, 7 series cards= FAIL, 8600gt/gts=okay I guess, 8400=FAIL!
Just go with a single 9800GTX+, and you'll be able to run Fallout 3, Halo 2, ect, on high basically.

You can run them..but they'll run like crap. Just go with 1 9800GT, GTX, or GTX+, which'll be about the same price as 2 9400 gts, and one 9800GT will whoop dual 9400GT's ass.
Hell, I think my 7300GS overclocked is better than one of those cards.

Dude, really, don't screw yourself over, DO NOT buy a 9400GT. It's a piece of sh!t. 1 9800 GT is 3 times faster than 2 of them in sli.

ok will it be able to run games like cod4 and fallout 3 at medium settings when both cards are overclocked how about halo 2 those are about the only 3 games i will play until july when i will sell the two 9400 that i already ordered (before i posted anything stupid move) and then ask my parents for some cash and go and get some new fancy card i just need these cards to last for half a year overclocked then their out also what do you guys use to benchmark and overclock. New to gaming but i think for my first rig this is decent and the bottleneck will probably be the graphics cards for 6 months just need it to run games dont need super high graphics just no lag and decent settings.

Well, in that case, hell my 7300 gs runs halo 2 on high with no lag, so I'm sure they will be able to. But fallout 3 will be a no-no. You'll be able to run it at medium with lag at the best, even if overclocked. 9400gts=SUCK ASS at overclocking
