any difference between 169.25 beta & 169.25 whql drivers?
I ask because I only just got the rig working with 169.25 beta but noticed that there filesize was different between beta & whql; so reluctant to change unless it's worthwhile.

Of course, i understand that versions are the same so there shouldn't be any difference... (yeah right eh?)

I just installed the WQHL driver From the EVGA site. and I can't tell the difference performance wise. Ran a benchmark got 15991 @ my gaming settings. No different, other than I downloaded the beta version from Nvidia. Up to the level exiting the mountain in Crysis, I think the 169.06 driver handled the preceding levels better, but falls on it face at the mountain level (Unplayable). With the beta version of 169.25, I was getting black screens, and freezing. That never happened with 169.06 driver from disc with supersampling, and AFR 1 enabled. I am currently playing the offficial 169.25 driver from where I left off at the default settings. No black screens yet.

I suspect that their is something wrong with the 169.25 driver even the WHQL one. I walked away from my computer for a while, and when I came back, it was shutdown. I restarted to a blue screen, that then, went to the screen whic said: "Start Windows normally". When Windows came up, I got the message again saying that Windows has recovered from a problem, its was causeed by Nivida.

Strange man. I tried them for a few hours this morning without a single problem.

Well, I left my computer with SLIzone on screen, four about an hour. Screen goes into stanby after 20min. Came back to find computer stut off. I installed the 169.09 beta. Going to give that one a try. The 169.06 never did this.

I have Sleep off, you might want to try that. It's just like when the 8800's came out; same problem.

I checked the power option, and Sleep was activated. I hit never, and 20min on the monitor. I read somewhere that Nvidia fixed this, but I guess not.

If the drivers don't alter this state in the power option of Windows, that means it must of been activateed when I had the 169.06 driver installed because I haven't visited power options in a great while, and never had my computer just shut down on me.

The WHQL verison seems to have the SLI global profiles fixed. The beta one always said SLI Custom under every sli profile.

I'm back on thw WHQL 169.25 driver. Its the only driver that plays the alien segments smoothly in Crysis.
