Help - 3D Vision DLP Issue Yes I have it already
  1 / 2
** Attention, do not hijack my support thread with product questions please !!!**

Nvidia,

Thanks for the glasses I love them but I have a serious issue and it will effect all DLP users until you provide a fix. DLP when turned into 3D Sync mode overscans the image (cuts off picture all around the screen)

All this is fine because Nvidia has a re-size tool that fixes this issue great, but it breaks the 3D and turnds the effect into white blotches that you can barley see through.

Tri-def/DDD 3D company had the same issue with there glasses I owned them too. They fixed this issue by adding a stretch and scew option that will re-size the picture ON-DEMAND in the game.

This effect's DLP user big time as I am missing probably 15% of the picture forced because the drivers wont re-size with the desktop!

This will also be a issue for non-dlp user who use the re-size option on the monitor period.

I have waited so long and the glasses are finally here please provide a fix, like tridef and iz3D did fast. we will not be able to enjoy the product until you provide this

thank you,

a valued customer

Hi All

The resize option is available, but has been switched to allow 1768x992 resolution selection instead of downscaling 1920x1080 to fit the screen. The reason why the reduced resolution is used instead of downscaling is that downscaling "break" the checkerboard pattern that the DLP needs to receive.

So just go to the display control panel, and select 1768x992. Almost all games today will let you use that mode when you are playing the game.

thanks for the reply I actually did this last night but now its not cut off but im under scanned about 1 1/2 inches around the whole tv. I either have to choose to be missing picture from underscan or overscan. If samsung didn't do this it wouldn't even be an issue. But I would rather have the picture not cut off then undersized.

But you can downscale this with out issue on the DLP checkerboard patterns. Tridef has this working for a while with a keyboard shortcut that makes ti go corner to corner perfect. I have the product as well.

My gripe is that this is a known issue, Nvidia has tested this with samsung and has done nothing about it. They specifically knew the DLP's did this and should have offered a resize shortcut like TriDef/DDD. you can view info here http://www.tridef.com/support/samsung-info.html But I have used the products first hand and it works perfect with the resize shorcut. This resize does the picture and checkerboard pattern

Nvidia it would be great if you stepped in to fix this issue software wise even though its not your fault but adding the support is easy and would really make a better experience for us DLP users.

Samsung why your DLP's zoom in when 3D mode is enabled in the first place is beyond understanding. Why nvidia hasn't offered resize shortcut upon release working with Samsung on products (bundled monitors & whatnot) .... is just confusing.

If anybody thinks that nvidia & samsung didn't notice this during testing your blind, they should have offered a way to fix this before selling the glasses.

Why do I have make a choice to loose pixels or cut picture cut off?

Also if you guys need more information to make this resize shortcut available to nvidia customers just like tridef/DDD customers let me know I would be happy to talk/share/give all information that I can. I would even send my old glasses and drivers from tridef to you at no cost so you can see their solution and offer a fix of your own. If tridef/ddd can do it as a very small team Nvidia def can.

But please don't say its not possible to resize the 3D checkerboard patterns along with the picture because this is NOT TRUE.

Thanks Nvidia I am enjoying the product but we just need a fix

Just a quick thought... this might be the reason why the samsung dlp's are not in the supported list.

http://www.nvidia.com/object/GeForce_3D_Vi...quirements.html

Im sure they will fix it, but dont throw other companies in their face like they have a better product when there was no verification that the samsung DLPs would work 'perfect'.

And did you ever read the post from Andrew above yours that say's they found a solution? And are working to get it out..

Team Nvidia,

Thank you for gracefully looking at this small thread and taking a drastic move to fix a issue that is CLEARLY not your fault to begin with and offer a fix. I can work with a lower resolution for a while =) but many users and I will be patiently waiting for your update so the Samsung 3D community can play corner to corner.

Nothing worse then having a 61" 3D Screen and have it overscanned or underscanned..... =(

Again thanks much.....

Calm boy, cccaaalllmmmm yourself. It will be ok.
I spent over $600 on 3 set's of these glasses. Don't you ever come here thinking you have the right to tell me what I can say or not say when I spent that much. PERIOD!

you were wrong about my TV being supported and you wrong about telling me what I can say when I spent good money. Just stop posting here troll.

Callm boy callmmmm.

Troll? Look at my post count. The only reason I check this thread is because I bought a Samsung TV as well, and I am waiting for all the issues like this to be hammered out b4 I go and spend my $400. Including the red tint around the edge of the screen that appears when gaming on the HL61A750.

Just realize this is a new product, I am sure the will get it resolved in due time. I just dont think its appropriate to be bashing Nvidia with how other companies have handled this problem when its obvious that they know about it... and its brand new... give them time. Its called having patience.

Last, stop saying I am wrong about your TV being supported or certified.
Generic 3D Ready DLP DOES NOT = your Samsung DLP being a certified modle. No matter how much you wish it did.

They all use the same TI HW - so being "certified" does not really mean all that much. :)

1) He would like to argue the text he reads very narrowly VS. years of experience in 3D.

2) He would like to argue that someone who hands Nvidia $600 bucks on day one shouldn't be able to express their disappointment with certain areas of the product they just bought.

3) @SFS I figured maybe he would of realized that by now (read link above Bildo!) but... it seems not.

All 3D DLP use the same parts its called OEM. Made by Texas Instruments.

I would really appreciate if you didn't post here anymore Bildo because this was a support thread that was resolved by Nvidia even before you posted in here. You keep saying let them fix it? The fix was acknowledged before your first post. You should even be more thankful that it was ironed out before you spent your bucks.

I just don't understand the logic here, I complain about something, Nvidia responds and says a fix is on the way. Then you post & argue about nothing that has to do with the support thread. That's why you were called a Troll.
