Hi!

It does'nt matter if your card is "PCI" or any other graphic port really. As long as you pick a driver that is supporting your card and operating system it's o.k.

Uninstall your present driver in the control panel - add / remove programs before installing this:

XP 32 version:

http://downloads.guru3d.com/ForceWare-174....nload-1901.html

Vista 32 version:

http://downloads.guru3d.com/ForceWare-174....nload-1902.html

Ignore and shut down the windows update thingy that will pop up as soon as you are back from the rebooting.

Right click the 174.93 installer instead and choose "open".

Also ignore the WHQL certification warning during the installation. This is'nt harmful in any way to do so.

Thanks for Your reply, mate!

I think, that PCI DOES MATTER, because it can not use AGP texturing, and maybe for some other reasons. All recent drivers i have tried (176.xx too) made my videocard reboot PC or caused a BSOD ("BlueScreenOfDeath") with nv4disp ERROR, even in dxdiag!

BUT...

I have already found a suitable driver: if happened to be Detonator 56.64.

Inspite of the fact that Detonators has been supporting FX series cards since version 43.45, it was the FIRST NVidia driver with support for PCI GeForceFX5500, that is NV34B or DEV.ID 0326!

I will try testing further, and report back, if i find a newer driver that works with my card.

BTW, at us$50 with worldwide delivery, its a nice find, for boosting performance of an old PC with PCI slots only!
