Low fps on Call of Duty
I also have weird things with my new 8800 GT. These are my specs:

Gigabyte GA-P35-DS3 (rev 2.0)
Intel Core 2 Duo e6750
BFG 8800 GT OC 512MB
2x 1GB Corsair PC6400 DDR2

Windows XP Pro SP2
NVIDIA ForceWare 171.16 beta

(I already tried the 169.21 version.)

When I play Call of Duty (The best game ever in my opinion!) with my new graphics card I get around 100-250 fps. With my old PC, with a RADEON X850 XT PE, I got 200-333 fps constantly. Why does my old card perform better than my new 8800 GT? (I know people think that a difference with more than 60 fps isn't mentionable with our human eyes, but on Call of Duty you can get on several jumps with 333 fps.) Friends of mine play the game with either a 320MB or 640MB 8800 GTS with more than 600 fps!

Then I have another very strange phenomenon:

On certain maps my fps drops dramatically when I move my mouse, only when I am not "aiming down the sight". (Or in other words: unzoomed.) So when I am zoomed in, I will have a "normal" fps, and when I zoom out I will have about 10-50 fps. This only happens when I am moving my mouse, and as far as I know, it only occurs on mp_brecourt and mp_hurtgen.

Does anyone know what is wrong?

Is this a new install of XP SP2? Got the dual core hotfixes from MS?

Thanks for your reply. What do you mean with a new install, do you mean a fresh installation of Windows? If so: yes. With my new hardware, I reinstalled Windows.

I tried this hotfix: http://support.microsoft.com/?id=896256

But it doesn't fix my problem. Any other ideas?
