GeForce 8600M GS Driver?
  1 / 5
Hey everyone, Ive tried searching for this topic first, couldnt seem to find anything directly related to the 8600M GS, and I appreciate any help anyone can offer ahead of time! :)

I just recently traded in my HP Laptop with a newer model that has the GeForce 8600M GS.

The problem is, through the Driver Updates on Nvidia's site, I Cannot seem to find anything for this card. I am running on Vista 32-bit as well.

One of the drivers that I had thought has this card as a Supported Product, only hols the 8600M GT. Is there a difference in these cards? Will this driver work for the GS?

The main reason I am trying to update these drivers ( as i have literally JUST recieved this new laptop) Is due to being stuck with 5-12 FPS In World Of Warcraft.

If anyone has any information or advice for the Driver situation, please let me know! Thanks to all again!

Hi! i currently have the 8600M GS in my dv9548us laptop, and i am having the same problem with FPS in FFXI. The FPS just drops to like 5-7 FPS. It really sucks cause the laptop should run this game with no problems. Hopefully Nvidia will come out with some drivers soon to fix this problem

Did you even go to that site I linked?

They have drivers for practically every nvidia gpu there using modded inf files.

Try this more direct link - 163.69 for vista

http://www.laptopvideo2go.com/forum/index....showtopic=15049

Download the 'driver' and 'modded inf'. Run the exe to extract it to a folder of your choosing and then copy the 'modded inf' into it overwriting the one there.
Then run setup and install the driver. done.

I tried this link and I also installed. However, in this link there is no such a driver for 8600M GS Card. Did anybody solve the FPS problem? This started to drive me crazy. I use Dual Core 2.20 Ghz, 4 Gb Ram and so on, But EVEN I can not play FIFA 07 With this hp laptop.. If it is so simple to develop a card? Why they did not develop a driver for that card? this was for NVIDA! Please somebody should help us down here!!!!

You have been helped  !!!! Please, remove your head from your rectum and follow Septic's advice!!! All you need to do is right there. I just installed the 175.16 drivers on my 8600M GT last week or so. I know the site and the drivers work. If you don't want those drivers, grab some newer ones. There are only about 4000 drivers on that site, pretty hard not to find one that will work for you. You can read, can't you?

Hmm, seems my patience for ignorance is growing thin today.

I should say `lol` to you. By the way, those drivers on that website does not include Geforce 8600M GS Driver. When i try to install those drivers by using `setup` / when it goes through it says, there is no such a driver compatible with in your computer. The thing is I just bought the laptop and it has a recovery disk, However, I cannot reach to NVIDIA Control panel because I guess the newest performance improver software is not installed. Can anybody help me to find a driver for ` Geforce 8600M GS `

Thank you.

My apologies for snapping. I have no excuse for my post other than my own issues.

Everything you need for any and all GeForce video cards is on that site. Read up on the instructions on that site, they will give you detailed instructions on what to do and how t do it.

You can even snag the modded .inf from one driver set and use it in another driver. I used to use a modded Alienware .inf(I owned an Alienware Area-51 m7700 with a GeForce 6800 GO card) in every driver I tried. It always worked.

Snag the most recent driver(or one close to it) and replace the .inf file inside the drivers with the modded .inf file on the right of the driver download link. That should work fine.

Everything you need is there. Trust me.
