[BUG] Black screenshots in UT2004 on GF8800GTX/GTS
The problem: screenshots made using game's built-in option are completely black (like Malevich's Black Square picture). Confirmed by a few 8800 GTX users and one 8800GTS user in the thread on Epic Games' forums.

My videocard: MSI NX8800GTX (T2D768E)
Drivers used: latest 97.94

Attached - archive with system's dxdiag report in txt and xml.

I've also had this problem with my 6800GT, 7800GT, and 8800GTS.

Try turning off anti-aliasing in your driver control panel and anisotropic filtering in both your driver control panel and ut2004.ini file. I seem to recall that something about Unreal Engine 2.5 doesn't allow screenshots to be taken when AA is enabled. Not sure about AF but it wouldn't hurt to check with that disabled as well. Hell, last time I used it you couldn't even select objects in UnrealED if AA was on.

I'm just speaking from personal experience though and could be way off base.

I have the same problem.

I'm having:
Intel Core 2 Duo E6600
2 x 1 GB Corsair XMS2 PC6400CL4
ASUS Commando P965
XFX GeForce 8800GTS - Forceware 158.22
Windows XP Professional SP2

The problem only occurs when running fullscreen mode with the "D3DDrv.D3DRenderDevice" render. Using "OpenGLDrv.OpenGLRenderDevice" or the software mode makes it work fine, but it also gives much much lower fps.

Running windowed mode in any render makes the screenshot function work also, but as mentioned before, it doesn't in fullscreen.

I've tried multiple config files in UT2004, nothing changed, tried changing tons of the 3D settings in the nVidia drivers, still nothing.

Please fix this asap nVidia, MANY MANY UT2004 players are having this problem

I get blank or black screenshots in UT2004 in fullscreen with both the 162.18 and 163.44 drivers for xp. Setting 'Negative LOD Bias' to 'Clamp' in the nvidia cp did not help. prtscn works but is too inconvenient and worthless if taking more than one screenshot. screenshots work in windowed mode but are messed up on the bottom.

I have the same problem with my GeForce 8600GT, just a pic of all black color. My GF6600 used to work fine and as far as I can tell, all my video options are the same but i will double check 2night. I used the supplied MSI/Nvidia drivers first and last night I installed the newest Nvidia version 163.71. Still have the same issue.

C'mon nVidia. You guys are awesome and I cant stand ATI.
