Counter-Strike 1.6 FPS FPS Problem
I have tried many times to fix my fps problem in CS 1.6. I have a GeForce 6800 GT and i get 60 fps or lower. It will never rise above 60 and i have typed in fps_max 100. I have gone to the valve forums and counter-strike forums as well as others and so now im guessing its a videocard problem. Someone please help...

Comp Specs:

Windows XP
AMD Athlon 1.8 MHz Processor
256 MB GeForce 6800 GT
ABIT NF8 series Motherboard

Any suggestions?

well...............Dont spend $500 on a videocard unless you know what Vsync is.. And why are you spending $500 on a videocard if your playing 1.6 ? Also, this forum isnt nvidia tech support.. so your not guaranteed a reply.

GG, nice reading. If you don't detect the sarcasm in that post then you are indeed an idiot. The only reason i stay with Nvidia is because they are a better company. So stfu...someone needs to lock this post btw.

Hello friends /wave.gif' class='bbc_emoticon' alt='' />.M new to this forum.I can solve your peoples fps problem. In your 3dsettings of your card,go to adjust image settings with preview and in that advanced 3d settings. Then in that turn only your vsync off. This will make your fps to go upto 100.
Please do this and reply me.Remember only turn off your vsync from your card settings. /thumbup.gif' class='bbc_emoticon' alt='' />

Im new this is my first post.. Im just replying because i had the same exact 60 fps problem in 1.6. What i dont understand is why nvidia wants to have two different profiles. And if you like either of them better for what you use. At least have it where if u turn off a application in one of them that it transfers to the other profile. Because i had my vsync off in the older profile because i like it better. But in the newer one it was still on. Thats pretty lame i think.

Thank you for telling me how to solve the exact same problem I am having with my 6200gt in cs:s. I didn't know vsync would cause my fps problem. now I do.

Thanks again
