I have the same problem. I have found if you go into the ig2.ini you can manually set a gfx mode but the game crashes when it loads.

Patching the game does not resolve this either.

I would really like to a see a fix for this one too. I loved to play this game on my ti4600, but I forked out a whole wad of cash for a 6800 ultra upgrade, only to find it wont play my favourite game anymore! Please help! It can't be that hard..
Even if there's a way to just setup a profile where the chipset is crippled to behave like one of the cards that works..I really wanna play my game!!!

Just for clarification, I'm referring to Industry Giant 2, but I also have the exact same problem with Transport Giant 2.

Any assistance would be greatly appreciated!

for further possible assistance, the error come when trying to detect the card and it's capabilities. It isn't recognized and causes the enginetest.exe to loop infinitly.
A log is generated by the game, and it contains a whole bunch of the following:

Engine Version: Sat Jun 1 11:30:54 2002
Fri Jul 15 23:23:33 2005
Error: -2147024809 DDERR_INVALIDPARAMS Line: 4567

Hope this can assist in fixing it!! I'm dyign to play it!!!

I too have Industry Giant 2 and I have found that I have the same problem :( . After upgrading from a NVidia Geforce 5500GT to a Geforce 6800 Ultra, IG2 is no longer working.

I also saw the same response on the Jowood forum and it would be great if NVidia could look into this for their customers who are experiancing issues with this game and the 6800.

Many Thanks

Search the net. i used Google and find the following files

You need Nvidia Fix 1.00
Nvidia Fix 1.10
Nvidia Fix 1.20

1. Install THIS version of the game
2. Apply the first patch 1.00 (Read the README file that comes with it FIRST)
3. Apply the second patch 1.10 ( check the readme file FIRST). At this point when you run this patch it may say it cannot find a file. Don't worry just carry on.
4. Apply 1.20 patch and Bobs your Uncle.

It's worth the effort. I'm running it perfectly on Vista 64 with the latest Nvidia card.

WARNING
1. Check any file you download for virus's (unlikely in this case)
2. It takes a while to download the files
3. Disclaimer - try it at your own risk! :)
