Nvidia GTX960M Drivers causing unplayability of Steam Game
Hi, i am encountering some issue via my video cards. If i try to run my intel video card i get some visual glitches but most annoying my fps is way down to the point of unplayability. So i tried running off my Nvidia card and all the issues i just mentioned go away. However i am left with some trade offs. When running the Nvidia 376.67 driver i can randomly come across a black screen that covers three quarters of the screen indefinitely until i have shut off the game off via blindly going through the menu. A scenario where this black screen occurs is when triggering a specific loading screen with cut-scenes. Other loading screens are just find and i can also see pre-determined cutscenes. However, when it is suppose to be showing a unique scene of my character in game the black box covers the screen and then will never go away. I tried updating the Nvidia driver to the most current version available 388.43 as well as the oldest one listed 384.94. Both got rid of the black box issue however they both result in the program becoming non-responsive when pressing the maximize full screen button. I would leave it in window mode however there always seems to hit a point where when playing the game and eventually selecting dialogue options resulting in a double click that enlarges the screen unintentionally and then obviously the game crashes. PC specs that might be useful to know: Windows 10 Home, 64 Bit Laptop Nvidia GTX960M Processor 2.60GHz RAM 16GB Input very much appreciated. Thanks!

My Opinion is no more important or right than yours. But if your using the LATEST drivers, go back to the prior set.

Piss Poor tech support blame all issues on drivers and assumes that your an idiot. Find a set that you know worked and see if the problem exists still.

""Don't f with it if it ain't broken!""
Constantly updating drivers is a good way to F'up the whole system.

If the driver has an issue, don't be a fool, remove it.

Just because you can, does not mean you should.

After 3-years I can no longer log-into ESO. I get a "ESO not responding" indication. Bethesda Support says this: Thank you for contacting The Elder Scrolls Online Team. My name is Jayme, and I'd be happy to assist you today. After reviewing your game consultant report, I noticed you're using a mobile graphics card. I deeply apologize for this inconvenience, but mobile graphics cards do not meet ESO's minimum requirements, so there is limited troubleshooting we can offer. While this doesn't mean you cannot play ESO at all, it does mean you will run into issues more often. When did requirements change? Where in the specifications does it say mobile cards don't meet the specs? My System Windows 10 Home 64-bit (10.0, Build 16299) (16299.rs3_release.170928-1534) i7-5700HQ CPU @ 2.70GHz (8 CPUs), ~2.7GHz Memory: 16384MB RAM Drive: C: Free Space: 101.4 GB - Free Space: 521.1 GB with ESO installed GTX 980M DirectX Version: DirectX 12 Dedicated Memory: 4061 MB
