Heat problem with 2x 1080 ti ???
Hi all, just put together yesterday a new PC configuration, what concerns me is that one of both video cards gets damn hot, 90 - 91C while the other one stays at 59 - 61C under full load. Video Card 1: Gainward 1080 ti Phoenix Golden Sample, 90C under load Video Card 2: Gainward 1080 ti Phoenix Golden Sample, 60C under load SLI contected but SLI disabled. Monitor is connected to Videocard 1. Next thing that concerns me is that the output of videocard 2 is higher at lower temperatures. While videocard 1 works about at ~1550 the videocard 2 works at ~1850 under full load. Fan Control manualy set for both the same. Chasis Coolers set on max, does not even make a difference for videocard 1 if the fans run full or in silent mode, just keeps the 90C under load. PC is a gaming and working one. While videocard should constantly be mining all day, videocard 1 only if i'am away from the PC, hence the setup with 2 videocards. Any ideas? Normal? Vaulty video card 1? Wrong setup? Suggestions? Just in case for the rest of the setup, maybe its of help: Case: Full Tower Be Quiet Dark Base 900 Pro PSU: 1000W Be Quiet Dark Power 11 pro Intel 8700K CPU 4x 16 GB RAM Kingston 2600Mhz Mainboard Asus Rog Hero X Maximus CPU Cooler: Be Quiet Dark Rock 3 pro Intake: 4x 140 Noktua NF-A14 PWM 2000rpm Out: 4x 120 Noktua NF-S12A PWM + 1x 140mm Noktua NF-A14 PWM 1500rpm Thx in advance for every reply as i'am realy concerned about video card 1.
Hi all,
just put together yesterday a new PC configuration, what concerns me is that one of both video cards gets damn hot, 90 - 91C while the other one stays at 59 - 61C under full load.

Video Card 1: Gainward 1080 ti Phoenix Golden Sample, 90C under load
Video Card 2: Gainward 1080 ti Phoenix Golden Sample, 60C under load
SLI contected but SLI disabled.

Monitor is connected to Videocard 1.

Next thing that concerns me is that the output of videocard 2 is higher at lower temperatures. While videocard 1 works about at ~1550 the videocard 2 works at ~1850 under full load. Fan Control manualy set for both the same.

Any ideas? Normal? Vaulty video card 1? Wrong setup? Suggestions?

Just in case for the rest of the setup, maybe its of help:
Case: Full Tower Be Quiet Dark Base 900 Pro
PSU: 1000W Be Quiet Dark Power 11 pro
Intel 8700K CPU
4x 16 GB RAM Kingston 2600Mhz
Mainboard Asus Rog Hero X Maximus
CPU Cooler: Be Quiet Dark Rock 3 pro
Intake: 4x 140 Noktua NF-A14 PWM 2000rpm
Out: 4x 120 Noktua NF-S12A PWM + 1x 140mm Noktua NF-A14 PWM 1500rpm

Thx in advance for every reply as i'am realy concerned about video card 1.

Yeah that's pretty hot. I don't have the ti version, but my GTX 1080 cards always stay under 83C if I don't set a custom fan curve with MSI Afterburner. They just boost or reduce clocks to stay under that temp which is the default max temp for the cards. Have you checked to see if the graphics card fan is spinning. Your fan might not be working correctly. I would try and email Gainward and see what they say about it. They might tell you to RMA it as that temp is pretty high.
